PURPOSE:To ease a drilling to a root part by making a side surface of a seal part to be pressed and deformed by a keep plate when an air vent hole is drilled by a drill at a root part of a side surface of a hollow seal part projected from a trim part having a U-shaped cross section. CONSTITUTION:In a weatherstrip having a trim part 11 of a U-shaped cross section and a hollow seal part 12 projected from the peripheral surface of the trim part 11, when an air vent hole 121 is formed by a drill 4 into a root part of the seal part 12 side surface of the weatherstrip, a keep plate 5 in which a notched groove 51 is formed into a tip of the plate 5 is used jointly. That is, the underside of the tip part where the keep plate 5 groove 51 is formed is made to an approximately vertical flat surface to the drill 4, and the underside is made to approach and face to the seal part 12 side surface.
