Generally, when welding using the above-mentioned arc welding torch, for example, in automatic welding equipment, arc welding is performed by adjusting the shape of the workpiece, positioning device for the workpiece, or conveyance device for the workpiece, etc., as shown in Figure 1. The torch may be placed significantly overhand from the mounting base. By the way, the main body of the conventional arc welding torch and the support for the torch main body are made of copper or a copper alloy, and the welding torch 20' is relatively heavy. 17 needs to have a sturdy structure, and if the connecting member is made to be sturdy, the size of the adjustment mechanism, etc. that supports this connecting member must also be gradually increased. Furthermore, when using non-consumable electrodes or consumable electrodes, as the welding process progresses, the non-consumable electrodes, welding tips, consumable electrode guide tubes, etc. must be replaced or repaired as appropriate. Since the main body of the welding torch is made of copper or a copper alloy, the welding torch is relatively heavy, making it difficult to perform the above-mentioned replacement or repair work. Moreover, sometimes the welding torch is installed in a high place or in a place with poor working footing, so it is necessary to make the handling of the welding torch as easy as possible from the viewpoint of work safety, and to prevent the welding torch from being placed on the equipment. It was desired that the production cost be as low as possible.

The present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to the illustrated embodiments. In FIGS. 2 to 4, reference numeral 1 denotes a generally cylindrical torch body having a flange 2 approximately in the center;
It is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. Reference numerals 3 and 4 denote a tip support member and a welding tip which are successively screwed onto the front end side of the torch body 1, and are made of copper or a copper alloy, respectively. 5 is a liner with a flange member 6 glued to the rear end side, 7 is an adapter screwed onto the rear end side of the torch body 1, and this adapter 7 is connected to the torch body 1.
The liner 5 is attached and detached by being attached to and detached from the liner. 8 is an insulating member screwed onto the torch body 1; 9
and 10 are a nozzle support member and a gas nozzle supported by the torch body 1 via an insulating member 8;
1 is a support made of aluminum or aluminum alloy with a through hole 111 formed therein;
A groove 112 is provided around the substantially central portion of 1. By inserting the cylindrical portion 101 of the torch body 1 into the through hole 111 of the support 11 and rotating the nut 12 screwed onto the rear end side of the torch body 1, the flange 2 of the torch body 1 and the nut 12 are connected. Torch body 1
is supported by the support 11. In this case, support 1
A substantially parallel groove 13 is provided on the front end side of the torch body 1, and notches 201 and 202 that substantially fit into the groove 13 are provided in the flange 2 of the torch body 1.
In order to standardize the position of the welding torch with respect to the support 11, each flange 201, 20 is
The lengths up to 2, A 1 and A 2 are formed to be different from each other. Therefore, when the torch body 1 is removed to perform various operations and then reloaded onto the support 11, the position of the torch body relative to the support remains unchanged, and there is no possibility that the welding target position will change. A radial hole 10 is bored so that when the torch body 1 is attached to the support 11, the inner hole of the torch body 1 and the circumferential hole 112 of the support 11 communicate with each other.
Reference numeral 14 denotes a shielding gas supply nipple screwed onto the support 11. The shielding gas supplied from this nipple flows into the inner hole of the torch body 1 through the groove 112 and the hole 102, and then flows into the inner hole of the torch body 1 at the front end of the torch body 1. It is supplied to the front end of the welding torch 20 through a spout 103 drilled in the side. That is, the shielding gas cools the support 11 and the torch body 1. 15,
15 is an airtight member such as an "O" ring for ensuring that shielding gas is supplied to the inner hole of the torch body 1; 16 is a connecting member for attaching a power supply terminal; 17 is an insulating member This is a connecting member that supports the support tool 11 and the arc welding torch 20 via 18.

As mentioned above, the torch body and the support for the torch body, which largely determine the weight of the arc welding torch, are made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, so the weight of the arc welding torch is extremely small compared to conventional ones. As a result, the mechanical strength of the connecting member that supports the welding torch may be lower than that of conventional ones, so the connecting member can be made smaller and lighter, and various support mechanisms for this connecting member, such as adjustment mechanisms, can be used. It is also relatively smaller and lighter. Furthermore, since the torch body of the welding torch and the support for the torch body are each made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, the production cost of the welding torch is lower than that of conventional welding torches, and when repairing the liner 5, the shield gas When removing spatter from the passageway, the arc welding torch 20 is appropriately removed from the support 11, and since the welding torch is lightweight, the above-mentioned workability is good.
Furthermore, if the torch body and the support are each made of aluminum or aluminum alloy,
It can be manufactured lightweight and inexpensively, and furthermore, there is no galvanic corrosion between the torch body and the support when power is supplied for welding, and the support 11 is not damaged when power is supplied.
Although the torch body 1 and the torch body 1 generate heat due to their respective electric resistances, the support and the torch body are cooled by the shielding gas supplied to the inside of the nozzle via the support 11 and the torch body 1, which poses a practical problem. never occurs. Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 3, a connecting member 16 for attaching a terminal for power supply and a nipple 14 for supplying shielding gas are provided.
If the welding torch is oriented in the same direction, the space where the power cable and gas supply hose connected to the welding torch may interfere with other objects will be limited, and the space necessary for arranging the welding torch will be restricted. Space can be reduced. In the above embodiment, an arc welding torch using a consumable electrode has been described, but it goes without saying that the present invention can also be applied to a case using a non-consumable electrode. Furthermore, the present invention can also be applied to so-called semi-automatic welding torches in which an operator performs welding while holding the welding torch in hand.

As described above, according to the present invention, an arc welding torch can be manufactured at low cost and is lightweight, so that the supporting mechanism of the welding torch can be made as light and compact as possible. In addition, since the welding torch is easy to handle, each part of the welding torch can be easily replaced or repaired.
