Conventionally, a two-layer liquid crystal display device, as shown in FIG. 1a, has two liquid crystal layers formed by an upper liquid crystal panel 1a and a lower liquid crystal panel 1b, and polarizing plates 2a, 2b, and 2c are arranged above and below them. , polarizing plate 2a, 2
A configuration is known in which the display colors of the upper liquid crystal panel 1a and the lower liquid crystal panel 1b can be colored by combining color polarizing plates with the panels b and 2c, and the colors of each display can be changed. . In Figure 1a, 3 is a panel holder, 4a and 4b are connectors that transmit signals from the circuit block 8 to the upper and lower liquid crystal panels, 5 is a panel frame for positioning the liquid crystal panel, connectors, etc., and 6 is a panel holder for the panel holder 3. The screws 7 are fixed to the reflectors. However, if the structure is as shown in Figure 1a, only the connectors 4a and 4b on both sides push up the liquid crystal panel, so the upper liquid crystal panel 1a and the lower liquid crystal panel 1b must be integrated as a part. There is. This is because the connector 4b pushes up both the liquid crystal panels 1a and 1b, but the connector 4a pushes up only the upper liquid crystal panel 1a, so the liquid crystal panel 1
If a and 1b are not integrated, the connector 4a side of the liquid crystal panel 1b will fall down as shown in FIG. 1b. In this case, the distance between the two liquid crystal layers becomes uneven, which not only results in poor appearance, but also causes Newton's ring or rainbow to occur depending on the distance between the upper liquid crystal panel 1a and the polarizing plate 2c. Therefore, the first
In the case of figure a, specifically, by applying adhesive to both the upper and lower surfaces of the polarizing plate 2c, the liquid crystal panel 1a,
1b is integrated. However, in the process of bonding two liquid crystal panels 1a and 1b together using adhesive on both sides of a polarizing plate, it is extremely difficult to bond them together without leaving any air bubbles. These bubbles not only impair the appearance but also cause a significant reduction in lamp effectiveness. Furthermore, since the two liquid crystal panels are a single component, even if only one is defective, both must be replaced, which is twice as expensive as replacing a normal panel. In addition, in order to prevent backlash of the reflector 7, it was necessary to arrange a reflector backlash prevention member 9 as shown in FIG. 1c. The reflector rattling prevention member 9 is made of a metal member having spring properties, for example, as shown in FIG. 1d.
However, since parts are required just to prevent backlash, it cannot be said to be an efficient module configuration.

The present invention eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks, and examples thereof are shown in FIGS. 2a to 2c below. In Figure 2 a,
11a is the upper liquid crystal panel, 11b is the lower liquid crystal panel,
12a, 12b, 12c are respectively an upper polarizing plate, a lower polarizing plate, and a middle polarizing plate; 13 is a panel holder; 14a,
14b is a connector, 15 is a panel frame, 16 is a set screw, 17 is a reflector, and 20 is a cushion member. The upper liquid crystal panel 11a and the lower liquid crystal panel 11b are each independent, and the upper liquid crystal panel 11a is supported by connectors 14a and 14b, and the lower liquid crystal panel 14
b is supported by the connector 14b and the cushion member 20. The cushion member 20 is, for example,
As shown in FIG. 2b, it is made of elastic rubber. For this reason, the upper and lower liquid crystal panels can be fixed without any gaps, so Newton's rings or rainbows will not occur between them. Also,
Since the upper and lower liquid crystal panels are independent, the manufacturing process is the same as for regular ones, and when parts need to be replaced, they can be replaced individually. Also, Figure 2c
As shown in FIG. 2, the cushion member 20 is incorporated into a groove provided in the panel frame 15, and by pressing against the reflector 17 from the side surface, the cushion member 20 also functions as a member for preventing rattling of the reflector.

As described above, according to the present invention, by stacking two liquid crystal panels and supporting each liquid crystal panel with a cushion member in addition to each connector, the process of bonding the liquid crystal panels through a polarizing plate as in the conventional method can be avoided. can be omitted, and there is also an advantage that there is no need for a member to prevent rattling of the reflecting plate.
