Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the capacity of an air conditioner according to the sensing results of an outdoor temp. and the weather by a method wherein a temp. sensing thermostat is installed to sense the temp. of an outer case at the outdoor side and the revolving speed of an outdoor motor for air blasting is controlled by this thermostat. CONSTITUTION:A temp. sensing thermostat 10 is installed on an outer case 11 at the outdoor side to sense the temp. of the case. When the weather is fine and there is much radiation heat, the temp. of the case 11 becomes very high due to the exposure to the direct rays of the sun and then the quantity of air blasting is increased by raising up the revolving speed of an outdoor motor 6 for air blasting and the space cooling capacity of an air conditioner is increased by raising up the capacity of an outdoor heat exchanger 4. When the weather is cloudy or rainy and there is little radiation heat and the capacity increase of the conditioner is not necessary, the temp. of the thermostat 10 does not rise up and the revolving speed of the motor 6 is kept low. Thereby, the excess operating power of a compressor is not consumed and an increase in noise due to the raised speed of an outdoor blower 5 is able to be prevented.

In the above conventional technology, the outside temperature sensing thermostat is installed near the outdoor heat exchanger or in the machine room housing the compressor. It is not possible to detect the effects of heat or heat generated during the operation of the compressor, or the effects of radiant heat that changes depending on the weather, and no consideration has been given to these points.

Therefore, there is a problem in that the same control is performed when the weather is sunny, which is affected by the radiant heat, and when it is cloudy or rainy, which is not affected by the radiant heat.

The temperature of the outdoor outer box is high when the weather is sunny and radiant heat is high and the cooling capacity needs to be increased, and the temperature is close to the outside temperature when the weather is cloudy and there is no need to increase the cooling capacity. Therefore, a temperature sensing thermostat is attached to the outer box, insulated to prevent it from being affected by heat other than the outside temperature and weather, and when the temperature of the thermostat is high, the rotation speed of the outdoor fan motor is increased and the outdoor heat exchanger is The capacity is increased by increasing the amount of air passing through the area, and the capacity is suppressed by lowering the rotational speed of the outdoor ventilation motor for other areas. As a result, the air conditioner is controlled so that the capacity is not increased when the capacity increase is not necessary due to factors other than the outside temperature and weather, but the capacity is increased when the capacity increase is really necessary in sunny weather with high radiant heat.

If the temperature sensing thermostat 10 is attached to the outdoor outer box 11 to detect the temperature of the outer box as in the present invention, when the weather is sunny and there is a lot of radiant heat, the outer box 11 will be exposed to direct sunlight. When the temperature becomes very high, the rotational speed of the outdoor air blower electric motor 6 is increased to increase the amount of air blown, and the capacity of the outdoor heat exchanger 4 is increased to increase the cooling capacity of the air conditioner. When there is little radiant heat and there is no need to increase the capacity of the air conditioner, the temperature of the temperature sensing thermostat will not rise, and by keeping the rotational speed of the outdoor fan motor low, excess compressor operating power will not be consumed, and the This also has the effect of preventing an increase in noise due to an increase in the rotational speed of the blower 5.

According to the present invention, the capacity of the air conditioner can be increased when radiant heat is high and the capacity of the air conditioner needs to be increased depending on the weather condition, and can be maintained at the normal capacity when no increase in capacity is required. This has the advantage of being able to provide an air conditioner that is highly comfortable and that controls its capacity in a way that adapts to the situation and does not consume excess power or raise noise when unnecessary.
