[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The present invention mainly relates to orthodontics used to correct the alignment of teeth when baby teeth change into permanent teeth in early childhood, and to align existing teeth. Regarding ingredients.

When baby teeth change to permanent teeth, this process does not occur all at once, so the permanent teeth inevitably become misaligned.

Therefore, in the past, dentists used extremely thin wires to connect each tooth and forcibly correct the alignment of the teeth. However, with this method of using wire, it is necessary to wrap the wire around each tooth and connect it to all the teeth, and the wire must be tightened once every few months whenever the alignment of the teeth is corrected. I had to fix it.

By the way, in the above-mentioned orthodontic method, the work of wrapping the wire around each tooth and the work of sequentially connecting the wrapped wire to the adjacent teeth takes a lot of effort, and the dentist has to tighten the wire once every few months. The hassle of going to the hospital became a problem.

The present invention provides an orthodontic appliance that solves the above-mentioned problems, is easy to put on and take off, and requires less hospital visits, and its means include:
Those that have tooth recesses formed by taking a mold of the user's own teeth and gums, and the tooth recesses have been rearranged to a normal dentition, or those that have a normal dentition. 3. Having tooth recesses formed by molding teeth and gums.
This is done using an orthodontic appliance made of shape memory plastic that exhibits a shape memory effect at around 7 degrees Celsius.

The above-mentioned orthodontic appliances are formed based on a mold of the user's teeth and match the mold of the user's teeth, and can be freely deformed when worn, making it very simple and easy to fit them onto the teeth. In addition, the orthodontic treatment can be performed with little discomfort since the teeth after being worn deform to the corrected tooth alignment as it approaches body temperature.

1 is a circumferential orthodontic appliance body made of shape memory plastic (e.g. polynorbornene), which exhibits a shape memory effect at around 37°C, which is the human oral temperature;
At around room temperature, it exhibits flexibility comparable to that of plastics or synthetic rubber, and can be freely deformed. The main body 1 includes an upper insertion part 11 inserted from the tooth surface of the upper jaw between the gums and the inside of the upper lip, and a lower insertion part 11 inserted from the tooth surface of the lower jaw between the gum and the inside of the lower lip. It is composed of a side insertion part 12, an occlusal part 13 that is engaged with the upper and lower teeth, and a back surface part 14 that is located on the back side of the upper and lower teeth. Also,
On the upper and lower surfaces of this occlusal part 13, negative-shaped recesses 13a taken from the user's teeth are formed in a corrected state.

Then, each tooth, including the root part, is scraped off from the plaster tooth model, and the tooth root part made of plaster is embedded in the gingival part of the wax tooth mold from which the tooth part has been removed, so that a normal dentition is formed. Make the tooth mold again.

This tooth mold, whose gums are made of wax and whose teeth are made of plaster, is placed in an articulator to form a physiological resting gap of 3 mm between the upper and lower front teeth, and a gap of 2 m between the molars. In this state, both the upper and lower sides and the entire upper and lower gums are covered with the bite. Next, when the tooth mold is opened together with the articulator after this bit has hardened to some extent, recesses for the teeth of a normal dentition and recesses for the gums are formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the bite.

Next, after applying a gypsum separating agent to the entire mouthpiece, the mouthpiece is placed into a mold and filled with gypsum. At this time, the mold is formed so that the labial side (front side) and tongue side (back side) of the mouthpiece can be separated. After the filled plaster hardens, the plaster is separated into two parts and the mouthpiece is taken out. As a result, when the two pieces of plaster are put together, a mouthpiece-shaped tooth mold with a normal dentition and gingiva remains, and a space remains around it.

Next, powder or small pieces of shape memory synthetic resin such as polynorbornene in the form of granules or scales are filled into the spaces in this plaster and heated, and the separated plaster mold is placed in a heater for several minutes. Heat at 150°C. After this heating, the plaster mold is separated and the molded resin is taken out.
The orthodontic appliance shown in Figs. to 3 is obtained. The orthodontic appliance that is taken out remembers the normal dentition in the shape of a plaster mold, and can be freely deformed when the temperature is lower than 37°C, but when the temperature is around 37°C, the normal dentition is stored. This is the result. Therefore, the alignment of teeth as described above can be corrected.

As mentioned above, the present invention is a mouthpiece made of shape memory plastic, which is a mold of the user's teeth and gums, and has a normal dentition. When using this to correct tooth alignment, it is easy to attach to the teeth since it is soft at first, and it feels good to wear.Moreover, when the oral temperature reaches around 37 degrees Celsius, it changes to normal teeth alignment, making it easy for the user to wear it. Teeth can be straightened. Also,
Since it can be put on and taken off freely, it can be done only at the time the user desires, which eliminates the problem of keeping it on all the time, unlike in the past. There is no need for hospital visits every few weeks or months.
