DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to an orthodontic tool used primarily to correct the alignment of teeth when baby teeth change into permanent teeth in early childhood, and to align the teeth of ordinary people. .

When baby teeth change to permanent teeth, this process is not done all at once, so the permanent teeth inevitably become misaligned.

Therefore, in the past, dentists used extremely thin wires to connect each tooth and forcibly correct the alignment of the teeth. However, with this wire method, it is necessary to wrap the wire around each tooth and connect it to all teeth, and the wire must be re-tightened once every few months each time the alignment of the teeth is corrected. It was impossible.

By the way, in the above-mentioned orthodontic method,
It takes a lot of time to wrap the wire around each tooth and connect the wrapped wire to the adjacent teeth one after another, and the dentist has to tighten the wire once every few months, which makes visits to the dentist inconvenient. became a problem.

Furthermore, once the wire is attached, it cannot be removed for one to two years until the teeth are straightened, so it is embarrassing and has a bad reputation for women of this age.

The orthodontic appliance, which is formed from the user's own tooth pattern, matches the user's tooth pattern,
Because it deforms freely when worn, it is very easy to attach it to the teeth, and as it approaches body temperature, it deforms to the corrected tooth alignment, so there is little discomfort and it is possible to orthodontically correct the teeth. It can be done.

1 is a horse-shaped orthodontic appliance body made of shape memory plastic (e.g. polynorbornene), which exhibits a shape memory effect at around 37 degrees Celsius, which is the human oral temperature, and which exhibits a shape memory effect at around room temperature. It exhibits flexibility comparable to that of rubber and synthetic rubber, and can be freely deformed. The main body 1 includes an upper insertion part 11 inserted from the tooth surface of the upper jaw between the gums and the inside of the upper lip, and a lower insertion part 11 inserted from the tooth surface of the lower jaw between the gum and the inside of the lower lip. side insertion part 12,
It is composed of an occlusal part 13 that is engaged by the upper and lower teeth, and a back surface part 14 that is located on the back side of the upper and lower teeth. Moreover, on the upper and lower surfaces of this occlusal part 13,
Negative recesses 13a from the user's teeth are formed in a corrected state.

Then, when the user puts the above-mentioned orthodontic appliance main body 1 into the mouth and bites the occlusal part 13 with the upper and lower teeth,
The upper and lower side entry parts 11 and 12 are inserted between the teeth and the upper and lower lips, and the back surface part 14 is brought into close contact with the back sides of the upper and lower teeth. In addition, when the main body 1 is placed in the mouth,
Since the main body 1 has flexibility, the recesses 13a of the occlusal part 13 corresponding to each tooth in the current state of the dentition
Each tooth is fitted.

When time passes while the body 1 is being bitten and the temperature of the body 1 approaches 37°C, the body 1
attempts to return to the corrected dentition state due to the shape memory effect. At this time, each tooth fitted into the recess 13a of the occlusal part 13 has the same shape as each recess 13a.
The dentition can be moved to a corrected dentition without easily falling out. Therefore, by repeating this condition, the alignment of the teeth will be gradually corrected.

First, we make two dental impressions of the patient (user) using wax (including the upper and lower teeth and gums), and then use one of the dental impressions to make a dental model using plaster. do. Meanwhile, the tooth portion is removed from the other wax tooth mold. Then, each tooth, including the root part, is scraped off from the plaster tooth model, and the tooth root part made of plaster is embedded in the gingival part of the wax tooth mold from which the tooth part has been removed, so that a normal dentition is formed. Make the tooth mold again.

Then, this tooth mold with wax for the gums and plaster for the teeth is set in an articulator, and a gap of 3 mm between the upper and lower front teeth, which is the physiological resting position gap, and a gap of 2 mm between the molars are formed. Cover the entire upper and lower teeth and upper and lower gums with the bite. Next, when the tooth mold is opened together with the articulator after this bit has hardened to some extent, recesses for the teeth of a normal dentition and recesses for the gums are formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the bite. Furthermore, the tooth pattern created by this bite has a horse-clamp shape, which is the shape of a mouthpiece.

Next, powder or small pieces of shape memory synthetic resin such as polynorbornene in the form of granules or scales are filled into the spaces in this plaster and heated, and the separated plaster mold is placed in a heater for several minutes. 150
Heat at ℃. After this heating, the plaster mold is separated and the molded resin is taken out to obtain the orthodontic appliance shown in FIGS. 1 to 3. The removed orthodontic appliance remembers the normal dentition in the shape of a plaster mold, and can be freely deformed at temperatures below 37°C, but when the temperature is around 37°C, the normal dentition remains. This is the result. Therefore, the alignment of teeth as described above can be corrected.

As described above, the present invention is a mouthpiece-like mouthpiece made of shape memory plastic, which is made by taking a mold of the user's teeth and gums, and has a normal dentition. When using this to correct tooth alignment, it is easy to attach to the teeth because it is soft at first, and it feels good to wear. Moreover, when the oral temperature reaches around 37 degrees Celsius, it changes to normal teeth alignment, making it easy for the user to wear it. Teeth can be straightened. In addition, since it can be put on and taken off freely, it can be done only at the time the user desires, which eliminates the problem of keeping it on all the time. There is no need for hospital visits every few months as in the case of
