メージセンサ6の原稿読取範囲内の一部を利用して設け
られており、読み取られる画像信号の一部分に基準白色
データとして割り当てられる。即ち蛍光灯2より照射さ
れた光は原稿1に反射された複鎖3にて偏向され、レン
ズ5により集光された後CODイメージセンサ6により
検出される。この時基準白色板7も蛍光灯2の光が照射
され画像データと共にCODイメージセンサ6に読み取
られる。第2図(a)は本発明による基準白色板の形状
をしめすらので、Ji12 i’A白色板7は複数の円
形孔があけられている。第2図(b)は本発明による基
準白色板7を用いて無画像の原稿をCODイメージセン
ザ6にて読み取った場合の検出例である。横軸は読み取
り幅、縦軸は検出レベルで、破線は従来、実線は本発明
である。領域Aは本発明の基準白色板が設けられた部分
で、Bのレベルは基学白色レベルである。即ち第2図(
b)かられかる様に本発明は従来と比べ基準白色板が及
ぼす画像検出部分への光量低下がおさえられるしのであ
