Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the luminous quantity from being decreased near a reference white board by bringing the reference white board into close contact onto an original face. CONSTITUTION:The reference white board is made of a flexible sheet having a thin film thickness, one end is supported to a window frame upper part of a picture read window 3 and the other end is pressed into contact onto a picture face of the original 1 to be carried. That is, in carrying the original 1, since the tip of the reference white board 7 follows to the original face and the board 7 is in close contact with the original face, the production of the shadow of the reference white board 7 onto the original 1 is prevented in reading the original.

Prior Art and Problems, Tei> As a method for reading images with shading, a reference white plate serving as a white reference is provided in the image reading window located in the front of the document, and
A method has been proposed in which a reference white plate is also read along with the original during image reading, and the read image is divided into gradations based on the detection level of the reference white plate. However, in the above method, a shadow of the reference white type white plate appears on the document, and a decrease in the amount of light reflected from the document surface near the reference white plate occurs.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention provides a gray scale image comprising an image reading window provided on the front side of a document to be conveyed, and a reference white plate provided within the document reading range of the image reading window. In the image reading device, the base white plate is a flexible sheet having thin film dimensions, and is configured such that one end is supported by the image reading window and the other end is in contact with the surface of the document being conveyed. This is an image reading device characterized by the following.

<Embodiment> FIG. 1 is a perspective view schematically showing an image processing apparatus showing an embodiment of the method of the present invention. 1 is a fluorescent lamp that irradiates light onto the original 2; 3 is an image reading window provided in front of the original 1; 4 is a mirror that polarizes the light reflected from the original 1; 5 is a lens that collects the polarized light; and 6 is a COD image sensor that detects and photoelectrically converts the collected light. Reference numeral 7 denotes a reference white plate according to the present invention, which is provided using a part of the document reading range of the CCD image sensor 6, and is assigned as reference white data to a part of the read image signal. That is, the light emitted from the fluorescent lamp 2 is reflected by the original 1 and then polarized by the mirror 3. The polarized light is collected by a lens 5 and detected by a CCD image sensor 6. At this time, the reference white plate 7 is also
is irradiated with light and read by the CCD image sensor 6 together with image data. FIG. 2(b) is a schematic side view of the reference white plate 7 according to the method of the present invention. The reference white plate is composed of a visibility sheet having a WIG size, and one end is supported by the upper part of the window frame of the image reading window 3, and the other end is configured to come into contact with the image surface of the document 1 being conveyed. That is, since the leading edge of the reference white plate 7 closely follows the surface of the original when the original 1 is conveyed, it is possible to prevent the shadow of the reference white plate 7 from appearing on the original 1 when reading the original.

Effect> As described in Section 2, according to the present invention, by bringing the reference white plate into close contact with the document surface, there is no gap between the reference white plate and the document surface, and the shadow of the reference white plate does not appear on the document. This prevents a decrease in the amount of light near the reference white plate.
