Abstract

ト3の外に飛散し、帯電器1.露光装置2.転写器4等
の感光体ドラム7の周辺機器を汚染するという問題点が
ある。特に、磁気ブラシユニット3の上流側に配設され
た露光装置2は、激しく汚染されるため露光不足を生じ
、画像形成性能が著しく低下するという問題点がある。

体ドラム7は、以上のように磁気ブラシMによってクリ
ーニングされた後、2回転目の回転を終了する。そして
、複写開始位置で待機し、以後同様にして現像作動とク
リーニング作動とが行われる。クリーニング作動時に、
感光体ドラム7に付着した残留トナーは、磁気ブラシM
に摺擦されて感光体ドラム7から剥離されるが、大部分
が磁気ブラシyに吸引され、浮遊トナーとして外部に飛
散するものが従来に比較して遥に少くなった。特に、磁
気ブラシユニット3の上流側に飛散する浮遊トナーの量
が著しく少く、露光装置2.帯電器1等の汚染が著しく
低下した。また、磁気ブラシユニット3の下流側には、
浮遊トナーの飛散抑止板32が配設されているため、同
様に飛散する浮遊トナーの量が遥に少くなった。なお、
現像作動時に磁気ブラシMは現像装置の磁気ブラシとし
て現像作用を行うが、その際帯電量の少いトナーは感光
体ドラム7に付着せず浮遊トナーとなシ、磁気ブラシユ
ニット3の外部に飛散する。前記浮遊トナーは、磁気ブ
ラシユニット3の上流側よシも下流側に多く飛散するが
、クリーニング作動時に比較して著しく少く、しかも下
流側には浮遊トナーの飛散抑止板32が配設されている
ため、外部への飛散は充分に抑制される。以上のように
、本実施例においては、クリーニング作動時あるいは現
像作動時を問わず、浮遊トナーの磁気ブラシユニット3
からの飛散が従来のものに比較して著しく減少され、感
光体ドラム70周辺機器、特に磁気ブラシユニット3.
の上流側に配設された露光装置2を帯電器1等の汚染が
著しく低下した。
