Claims

In a tilt handle device for a vehicle in which a steering shaft and a column change rod are installed side by side so as to be capable of tilting operation using their respective universal joints as fulcrums, the steering shaft is attached to the vehicle body side so that the steering shaft can be tilted integrally with the shaft. The column change rod is rotatably supported within a steering shaft jacket tube which is pivotally connected to the bracket by a pivot pin, and the column change rod is lateral to and substantially relative to the steering shaft. The column change rod extends parallel to the axis, and its distal end is supported by a support bracket attached to the pivot pin so as to be displaceable in the axial direction and in the direction of rotation about the axis. A tilt steering wheel device for a vehicle, wherein the universal joint portion is disposed at substantially the same height on a side of the universal joint portion of the steering shaft.
