Abstract

PURPOSE:To make constant the reflecting ratio of the displaying by providing the temperature detecting part to detect the ambient temperature of the device and the microcomputer to calculate the writing time of ECD based upon the detecting temperature. CONSTITUTION:The unit is composed of an ECD element 1, an ECD driver circuit part 2, a temperature detecting part 3, a microcomputer 4 and a memory part 5. For three lines (d)-(f), the relation of the writing time of the ECD and the reflecting ratio is changed by the temperature as shown in the figure. An ambient temperature is detected, the writing time of the temperature is calculated based upon the data of a memory part 5, and at the time of an ambient temperature H1, a writing time is controlled to be T1, at the time of H2, the time is controlled to be T2 and at the time of T3, the time is controlled to be T3.
