Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a print protective member ensuring favorable luster and excellent folding resistance and blocking resistance, for a recorded image surface obtained by ink jet recording, ensure favorable luster and excellent folding resistance and blocking resistance, by laminating a transfer material comprising a specified butyral resin as a main constituent on a base. CONSTITUTION:A print protective member comprises a transfer material 102 releasably pro vided on the surface of a base 101. The base 101 is a paper, a cloth, a plastic film or the like, and a treating agent for imparting releasability such as a silicone resin is applied to the surface of the base 101. The transfer material 102 is constituted mainly of a butyral resin having an average polymerization degree of 150-900 and a degree of conversion to butyral of not less than 60. To produce a recorded image surface using the print protective member, the protective member is laminated on the recorded surface so that the transfer material side makes contact with an image, and the member is heated to melt the transfer material. Then, the base is released from the base, leaving the transfer material on the recorded image surface, whereby the objective recorded image surface can be obtained. In the surface of the recording paper to which the transfer material is thus transferred, the surface shape of the base is substantially maintained. Accordingly, by using a base having a desired surface roughness, it is possible to obtain a desired glossy surface on the surface of the recording paper.

[Prior Art] The inkjet recording method uses various ink ejection methods (for example, an electrostatic suction method, a method that applies mechanical vibration or displacement using a piezoelectric element, a method that heats ink to foam it, and uses the pressure at that time. A recording method in which ink droplets are formed using a known method, etc.), and some or all of them are attached to a recording material such as paper (abbreviated as recording paper). This method is attracting attention as a recording method that generates little noise and can perform high-speed printing and multicolor printing.

Water-based recording liquids are mainly used for inkjet recording in view of safety and printing characteristics. When recording using liquid ink, it is generally necessary that the recording liquid does not bleed onto the surface of the recording paper and cause the print to become blurry, and that the ink dries as quickly as possible after recording to prevent unexpected damage. It is necessary not to contaminate the recording paper surface. and,
In the multi-color inkjet recording method using different colored inks, the amount of ink that adheres to the surface of the recording paper increases, so a recording paper that is particularly highly absorbent in ink is used.

As mentioned above, the recording paper used in inkjet recording is required to have high ink absorbency, so it is porous and has a low surface gloss. Moreover, since recording is performed using water-based ink, the images on recording paper used in inkjet recording also have low gloss.

Conventionally, as a method of imparting gloss to a recorded image, a method is known in which an image is recorded on a recording paper using a recording liquid, and then a glossy liquid is applied by spraying or applying with a bar coater. However, in the above gloss liquid application method, since the recording paper is porous, the gloss liquid also permeates into the recording paper, and a large amount of the gloss liquid is required to obtain the desired gloss. Furthermore, since the glossy liquid permeates into the recording paper more than necessary, the transparency of the recording paper increases and the whiteness decreases. It is difficult to control the desired gloss, and furthermore, it is necessary to use an organic solvent to prevent the dye forming the recorded image from dissolving, which poses a safety problem.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] As a means to solve the drawbacks described in the following, after forming an image on a recording material with a recording liquid, acrylic resin,
polystyrene resin, polyester resin, polyethylene,
A print protection member made of a transfer material mainly made of thermoplastic resin such as Omurakami is brought into close contact with the surface on which the image is formed and pressed, and then the base material is separated and the transfer material is transferred to the recording material. A recording method is known in which the recording material remains on the recording material, but it is difficult for the transfer material after being transferred onto the recording material of the print protection member to have both folding durability and blocking resistance.

The base material 101 is paper, cloth, plastic film, etc., and if desired, the surface is coated with a release agent having various release properties such as silicone resin, polyester resin, thermosetting resin 1, etc. Alternatively, a film that itself has release properties such as Mylar film or polypropylene film may be used. In particular, paper coated with a release treatment agent having various release properties such as silicone resin, polyester resin, or thermosetting resin may be used. This is good because it is easy to distinguish from the transfer resin layer when peeled off and does not curl. The thickness of the base material 101 is 5 to 2000 μs, preferably 10 to 5 μs.

If the average degree of polymerization of the butyral resin is less than 150, the folding durability and #blocking properties will be poor, and if it exceeds 900, the transferability will be poor due to a decrease in heat meltability, and if the degree of butyralization is less than 60. This is because the bending durability becomes poor. For this purpose, in particular, an average degree of polymerization of 200 to 7
00 and a butyralization degree of 70 or more, butyral resins have excellent folding durability, blocking resistance, and transferability.

The print protection member of the present invention is superimposed so that the surface of the transfer material is in close contact with the screen, and the print protection member is heated to melt the transfer material. Thereafter, when the base material is peeled off from the transfer material, the transfer material remains on the recording screen, and the desired recording screen is obtained. At this time, in order to ensure the transfer of the transfer material, pressure may be applied or the recording paper may be heated.

After obtaining two types of print protection members, images were recorded on inkjet coated paper using Canon's color inkjet printer Linter A-1210, and then the transfer material side of the print protection member was placed on this recording surface. After they were brought into close contact and pressed with a roll with a surface temperature of 140° C., the release process paper was separated and the transfer material remained on the inkjet coated paper. By bending the inkjet coated paper laminated with this transfer material by 180', the folding durability is improved to JIS Z-0.
Blocking resistance was examined using the ``Adhesive Resistance Test for Processed Paper for Packaging'' of No. 219, and transferability was examined using adhesion to inkjet coated paper. The results are shown in Table-1.

And butyral resins with a degree of butyralization of 60 or more, especially those using butyral resins with an average degree of polymerization of 200 to 700 and a degree of butyralization of 70 or more as transfer materials, exhibit excellent folding durability, blocking resistance, and transferability, A transparent, glossy, and highly light-resistant protective layer was formed on the image. Furthermore, by adding a plasticizer and crosslinking by adding and/or reacting a melamine resin or an isocyanate, excellent bending durability was obtained, and especially the crosslinked product had good alcohol resistance.
