の対向面の夫々に表示用電極5,7が形成されて
なる一対の電極基板の少なくともいずれか一方を
透視可能に形成し、該一対の電極基板のいずれか
一方の前記表示用電極5,7上に色素層6を形成
したのち、前記一対の電極基板の表示用電極形成
面に前記表示用電極5,7及び前記色素層6を覆
うように液晶分子配向制御用の配向膜9,9を形
成し、さらに前記一対の電極基板間にシール部材
1及びスペーサ部材10,11を介して液晶封入
空間を形成すると共に該液晶封入空間内に液晶4
を封入してなるカラー液晶表示装置において、前
記色素層6が形成された前記表示用電極5,7に
対応する部位及びその近傍に配置される前記スペ
ーサ部材10は、該部位及びその近傍以外の部位
に配置される前記スペーサ部材11よりも小径に
形成されてなることを特徴とするカラー液晶表示
