明基板の間にシール材を介して液晶分子を封入し
た液晶表示素子において、対向する透明基板のう
ち少なくとも一方の透明基板に設けた電極膜と配
向膜の間に、無機絶縁膜を形成したことを特徴と
する液晶表示素子。 (2) 前記の無機絶縁膜の被覆範囲は、少なくと
もシール材の一部に重なる位置まで拡張して形成
した実用新案登録請求の範囲第(1)項記載の液晶
