明電極形成側表面が互いに向かい合うようにスペ
ーサを介して対向させて配置し、この２枚の透明
絶縁基板の間に液晶を封止した液晶表示装置にお
いて、 前記スペーサの表面を、液晶分子の配向を規制
する力を持つ薄膜で被覆したことを特徴とする液
