期をなすようにしてＦＭ輝度信号等と共に記録し
、再生時に、上記パイロツト信号を取り出して、
この再生パイロツト信号と基準パイロツト信号と
のビート信号に基づいてトラツキングサーボを行
なうヘリカルスキヤン型の磁気記録再生装置にお
いて、 再生時に各トラツクにつき少なくとも２種類の
所定の周波数を有する基準パイロツト信号を所定
のタイミングで発生させる基準パイロツト信号発
生手段と、 上記磁気テープから再生された再生パイロツト
信号と上記基準パイロツト信号とのビート信号か
ら所定のビート信号成分を検出する検波手段と、 上記検波手段で検出されたビート信号成分の出
力の配分パターンによりトラツキング位相を判別
してトラツキング位相を表す制御信号を出力する
