Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate trouble due to over-taking-up, by providing a boundary mark at an appropriate position of the entire length of an ink ribbon and reducing a take-up amount by the detection signal of said mark. CONSTITUTION:An adjusting means 28 is constituted so as to reduce the number of pulses of a pulse generator 27 controlling a drive means 25 when a detector 24 detects a boundary mark 20 placed on the two-split position of an ink ribbon 14, that is, when the winding diameter of an original winding core 15 is almost equal to that of a take-up core 16. The reduction ratio of the number of pulses is adjusted so that the take-up amount in the middle of the entire length of the ink ribbon 14 is almost the same as the take-up amount at the initial stage of taking-up. By this method, the generation of trouble in which almost all part of the head sides of monochromatic parts Y, M, C become wasteful with over-taking-up or discrimination marks 1 to 3 are not detected by the detector 24 during the printing of the monochromatic parts Y, M, C or the discrimination marks 1 to 3 themselves are printed, is eliminated and a printing time can be shortened and printing quantity can be enhanced without increasing the winding diameter of the scroll in the original winding side.

Conventionally, in this type of printer, when monochromatic sections of different colors are arranged sequentially along the length of the ink ribbon, the beginning of one monochromatic section is moved to the front of the print head to print a line of characters of that color. After recording.

The carriage is returned to the starting position of that line, and the beginning of the monochromatic area to be printed is then moved to the front of the print head, and characters of that color are recorded. This process is repeated until one line of color recording is completed. This color selection operation uses a detector to detect the identification mark provided at the beginning of each monochrome section, and while or after returning the carriage to the starting position, the beginning of the next monochrome section to be printed is placed in front of the print head. It was supposed to wind up as if it were coming.

However, this winding amount is determined by the rotation speed of the stamping motor, which is controlled by a pulse generator activated by a detection signal from a detector that detects an identification mark, so as the winding diameter of the winding side scroll increases, When the take-up amount becomes large and exceeds about half of the total length of the ink ribbon, one-take take-up occurs, and the position far ahead from the beginning of the monochrome section comes to the front of the print head. Most of the side was wasted, and troubles occurred such as the identification mark being detected by the detector while printing a monochromatic part, or the identification mark itself being printed. Such troubles have also occurred in printers equipped with a mechanism that senses the friction coefficient of the take-up shaft and reduces the amount of take-up when the winding diameter of the take-up scroll increases. Additionally, in order to solve the above problem, it may be possible to increase the length of each single color section, but this would make it difficult to detect the identification mark, increase printing time, and reduce the amount of printing per scroll. In order to secure the necessary amount of printing, there is a problem in that the diameter of the scroll on the original scroll side becomes large.

In view of the above points, this invention reduces the winding amount when the winding diameter of the single winding core becomes large, eliminates troubles caused by the single winding size, shortens printing time, and reduces the winding of the scroll on the single winding side. It is an object of the present invention to provide a printer that can increase the amount of printing without increasing the diameter.

The adjusting means 28 is configured such that the detector 24 is connected to the ink ribbon 140.
The driving means 25 is controlled when the dividing mark 20 attached to the two-divided position is detected, that is, when the winding diameters of the 9-winding core 15 and the winding core 16 become approximately the same size. The number of pulses of the pulse generator 27 is reduced. It is preferable that the rate of decrease in the number of pulses is set to a number corresponding to the increase in the winding amount that increases until the winding diameter of the winding core 16 becomes the same as the winding diameter of the original winding core 15. At half of the total length, the winding amount is adjusted to be approximately the same as the winding amount at the beginning of winding.

In contrast, a boundary mark is provided 40 meters from the head of the ink ribbon, and when this boundary mark is detected, the number of pulses sent to the winding drive means (stepping motor) is reduced to 1.
Applicable to the printer of the present invention, which can be changed from 20 to 100,
- When the entire scroll is printed, the beginning of each monochromatic portion will move forward from the print head for a while as the diameter increases while the ink ribbon is wound around the take-up core to a distance of 40 m from its head. No problems were observed in printing marks or detecting identification marks during printing.

As described above, the present invention provides a printer using an ink ribbon in which monochromatic parts of different colors are sequentially arranged in the length direction and an identification mark is attached to the beginning of each monochromatic part, and the ink ribbon is divided into sections at appropriate positions along the entire length of the ink ribbon. The present invention is characterized in that a mark is provided and an adjusting means is provided that operates to reduce the winding amount based on the detection signal of the boundary mark, so that when printing of one single color area is completed, the detector detects the identification mark. At the detection stage, the winding amount decreases from the position where the dividing mark is provided so that the beginning of the next monochrome part to be printed moves to the front of the print head, and the beginning of the monochrome part due to excessive winding. This eliminates troubles such as wasting most of the data, the identification mark being detected by the detector while printing a monochrome part, and the m-separation mark itself being printed, and the printing time is shortened. This has the excellent effect of making it possible to increase the amount of printing without increasing the diameter of the scroll on the single-volume side.
