A safety pad is formed on the top plate surface of the instrument panel, and a defroster gun is attached to the safety pad near the windshield. In a defroster cylinder for an automobile, which is formed so that wind passes through a plurality of slits in the defroster cylinder and is blown onto the windshield, the defroster cylinder is provided with a longitudinal side of the defroster cylinder on the back side.
