DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides an optical cable attached to an overhead line such as an overhead ground wire or an overhead power transmission line, and the optical cable is attached to an overhead line and is tightened or wrapped. This invention relates to an improvement in the branching section of an overhead optical cable attached to an overhead line.

Optical cable-attached overhead lines are required to branch the optical cable from the overhead line near the steel tower and to prevent this branched portion from coming into contact with the steel tower due to vibration or the like and damaging it. For this purpose, it is conceivable to run the branched part of the optical cable into a plastic pipe. This plastic pipe has the disadvantage that if it is directly fixed to an overhead line, it will deform due to the heat generated by the overhead line when it is struck by lightning.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a branch section 10 of an overhead line attached to an optical cable according to the present invention.
2 shows the portion where the optical cable 14 is drawn down from the overhead line 12. In the illustrated embodiment, the optical cable 14 is tightened by a helical preform rod 16 along the overhead line 12, which is an overhead ground wire, but it may also be wrapped around the overhead line 12.

The branching section 10 includes a flexible plastic pipe 20 made of thermoplastic resin such as polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene into which the optical cable 14 branching from the overhead line 12 is drawn near the steel tower 18. It is then pulled down and fixed to the steel tower by a fixture 22. The end of the plastic pipe 20 near the inlet is connected to the overhead wire 1.
2, and the part along this overhead wire 12, except for its tip 20a, is covered with a heat-resistant adhesive protective material 24 such as silicone resin, and a metal wire 26 is applied through this protective material 24. It is bound and fixed to the overhead wire 12. Therefore, even if the overhead line 12 is struck by lightning and generates heat, the plastic pipe 20 will not be thermally deformed. Since this type of heat-resistant adhesive protective material 24 takes time to harden, it is desirable to adhere it to the outer periphery of the plastic pipe 20 in advance at a factory. Further, silicone resin is preferable because it can withstand temperatures in the range of -55 to 250°C and has excellent cold resistance. Furthermore, from the tip 20a of the plastic pipe 20 to the outer periphery of the optical cable 14, the plastic pipe 20
A waterproof sealing material 28 is coated to prevent water from entering the interior through the inlet. This waterproof sealing material 28 may be formed by wrapping a self-adhesive tape, or may be formed by applying putty and curing it. As can be seen from FIG. 1, the waterproof sealing material 28 has an outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the protective material 24. This is preferable because the waterproof sealing material 28 does not come into contact with the overhead wire 12 and is not required to have heat resistance. The waterproof sealing material 28 is also effective in eliminating rattling between the optical cable 14 and the plastic pipe 20 at the mouth of the plastic pipe 20.

FIG. 2 shows another embodiment of the present invention, except that in this embodiment, the branching part 10 is not the part where the optical cable 14 is pulled down, but is a part that branches near the steel tower 18 so as to avoid this steel tower. According to the present invention, as described above, the part where the optical cable branches from the overhead line near the steel tower is drawn into and protected by a flexible plastic pipe, and the end of this plastic pipe is not directly covered with a heat-resistant protective material. Since it is fixed to the overhead line via the cable, the optical cable can be safely branched without being thermally deformed by the overhead line.
