Cable restraints of this type are used to prevent cables from being displaced in manholes, to provide tension during the termination of overhead cables, and to prevent cables from slipping out of connection sleeves at cable connections. Generally, cable restraint devices are
It consists of a restraining member that is attached to the outer periphery of the cable and forms a stepped large diameter portion, and an engaging member that engages with the restraining member. In the prior art, this restraining member consists of a two-part metal ring which engages the outer circumference of the cable, and which is tightened by bolts or the like and frictionally engages the cable jacket. However, with such devices, crushing force is applied to the cable and its characteristics change, the outer sheath becomes flattened or scratched, and abnormalities occur, and friction between the metal ring and the cable causes damage. Since the cable is tied and restrained, there are many variations and the cable may be pulled out, and the use of metal rings and bolts increases the size of the cable, making it particularly unsuitable for use in connecting to a connecting sleeve within a cable joint.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a cable restraining device 10 according to the present invention, which includes a restraining member 14 attached to a position where a cable 12 is to be restrained, and a restraining member 14 attached to a position where a cable 12 is to be restrained. Part 1
4 and an engaging member 16 that restricts movement of the cable 12 in at least one direction in the length direction. The restraining member 14 has an inner surface 14a formed to match the outer periphery of the cable 12, and is made of a ring or a pipe that is glued or fused to the outer periphery of the cable 12, and is engaged with an engaging member on the outer periphery of the cable 12. This forms a protrusion that should restrain the cable. This adhesion of the engaging member 14 is performed on the cable 1
2 and the restraining member 14
It is carried out by. Alternatively, the restraining member 14 is fused by energizing a heating wire disposed between the cable 12 and the restraining member 14. In this way, the restraining member 14 is connected to the cable 12.
If the cable 12 is fixed to the cable 12 by adhesive or fusion instead of frictional engagement, the cable 12 will not be deformed, and the restraining member will not cause variations unlike the frictional engagement, and the restraint member will reliably attach the cable 12 to the cable 12. Fixed. The restraining member 14 may be made of metal in the case of adhesion, but is preferably made of plastic in order to improve adhesion or in the case of fusion bonding.

FIG. 2 shows a modification of the present invention, in which the restraining member 14 has a radial notch 14b.
If the restraining member 14 has a particularly large wall thickness, a clamping force will be applied to the cable 12.
This is preferable because it improves the adhesion with the material and ensures more reliable adhesion or fusion.

3 and 4 show specific application examples in which the engaging member 16 is modified in various ways. In the application example shown in FIG.
The cable 12 is comprised of a half-clamp bolted to the duct 20 to restrain the cable 12 from axial displacement within the conduit 20. 4, the engagement member 16 comprises a shoulder 26a of a metal connecting sleeve 26 surrounding a core connection (not shown) of the cable connection 24. In the illustrated example, the cable 12 has a tension member 12C between an inner sheath 12A and an outer sheath 12B, which is comprised of glass fiber reinforced plastic or high tensile strength fiber cord.
is embedded in a filler material 28, such as epoxy resin, exposed from the outer sheath and filled within the connecting sleeve 26. In this application, the restraining member 14 is attached to the outer sheath 12B of the cable 12 by means of a heating wire 18'.
is fused to. In addition, in Fig. 4, the reference numeral 30
3 is a waterproof tape wrapped between the connection sleeve 26 and the cable 12, and 32 is a rubber boot placed over it. In this application example, the cable 12 is connected to the connecting sleeve 2 via the restraining member 14.
Since the cable 12 is hooked onto the shoulder 26a of the connecting sleeve 26, the cable 12 will not come out of the connecting sleeve 26 even if a tensile force is applied in the axial direction.

According to the present invention, as described above, the restraining member that forms the protrusion that engages with the engaging member to restrain the cable is fixed to the cable by adhesive or fusion, so that crushing force is applied to the cable. The cable does not get damaged or flattened because no friction is applied to it, and the cable is more securely fixed compared to conventional frictional force, so the cable does not slip out, and bolts, etc. are not required to fix the restraint member. Since there is no problem, the overall size can be reduced, and the range of applications is widened.
