A conventional elevating device for a tundish stopper generally has a structure as shown in FIG. For example, a fan-shaped pinion gear 6, to which one end of the operating arm 5 is pin-coupled, is engaged with a rack screwed into the lower part of the stopper lifting shaft 4, so that the operator can move the operating arm 5 up and down. By raising and lowering the stopper 2, the discharge of molten steel in the tundish has been controlled, and thereby the level of the molten steel in the mold 7 has been controlled.

In the structure of the stopper lifting device described above, it is difficult for the operator to operate the stopper while monitoring the hot water level in the mold from the position where the operating end is located on the machine side, that is, far away from the side wall of the tundish dish. The above drawbacks were overcome by methods such as moving the position to the side of the tundish.

However, due to the diversification of continuous casting methods, when performing multi-strand casting, for example, casting of three or more strands, the tundish needs to have three tap holes at the bottom, so it is necessary to have three stoppers. However, in the case of such a configuration with three stoppers, for example, the operator of the stopper in the middle cannot move to the side of the tundish, which makes it extremely difficult to control the level of hot water in the mold. It is.

This invention was made in view of this situation,
Its features include a main stopper lifting shaft that can be raised and lowered freely on a support provided on the tundish, and an intermediate stopper lifting shaft that is provided on the side closer to the tundish than the main stopper lifting shaft. A toothed portion such as a sector gear that engages the lower part of the main stopper lifting shaft and the upper part of the intermediate stopper lifting shaft through disposed gears, and is coaxially connected to the lower part of the intermediate stopper lifting shaft with one end of the stopper arm. Due to the engagement of the forming bodies, the fulcrum of the stopper arm is brought as close to the tundish as possible, which allows the operator to operate the tundish stopper while constantly monitoring the level of the liquid in the mold. The purpose is to obtain a lifting device.

13 is a stopper operating arm with a tip 13a
A pin 15 is integrally connected to a support 14 which is branched into a fork-end shape and supported by brackets 12a and 12b. On the pin 15, a tooth forming body (not shown) such as a sector gear is provided at the fork end portion (between both forks) of the stopper operation arm 13 so as to move up and down within a space area formed in the fork end portion 13a. The intermediate stopper is engaged with a tooth forming portion 11b, such as a rack, which is bored in the lifting shaft 11 and extends through the intermediate stopper.

In the present invention, by constructing and using the above-mentioned structure, in particular, the rotation fulcrum of the stopper operating arm is made very close to the tundish body, so that the stopper operator can visually check the level of the hot water inside the mold 7. Since the molten metal level can be controlled, stable continuous casting work can be realized, and the effect of stably and reliably controlling the molten metal level inside the mold 7, that is, the tundish stopper operation during multi-strand continuous casting, is extremely effective. big.
