This butt connection is a method in which the cut ends of the old and new sheets are butted together, and a common adhesive tape is applied to the sheet surface along the butted area to connect the new and old sheets in a butt state. The normal connection method in which sheets are connected in an overlapping state results in a thick overlapping portion of the sheets, which is often used when the sheet becomes difficult to travel when passing through other processing equipment.
Conventionally, this type of butt connection uses a support stand for sheet connection, where the worker supports and holds the sheet to be cut from the back side to prevent it from sagging, and then the worker cuts the sheet. The ends were connected by applying adhesive tape to the ends.

しかし、上記のように作業者によつてシートの

However, when a worker butt-connects sheets as described above, especially when butt-joining sheets with poor rigidity or wide sheets, the sheet must be held on a support stand to prevent it from becoming distorted, and the connection must be made accurately. In order to accurately connect the cut ends by butting them together, the cooperation and skill of multiple workers are required, and a lot of work time is required. Furthermore, since the cutting and connecting work is performed manually, the joints are likely to be inaccurate, which may interfere with subsequent work such as sheet processing steps.

A device according to an embodiment of the present invention that performs each of the above steps will be explained in detail with reference to FIG. This embodiment is attached to a device that attaches an original fabric to a rewinding shaft 1 and feeds a sheet S to the left in the figure. Initially, the original fabric had a size of S 0 as shown by the chain line, but the sheet S is exhausted and there is almost only the winding core C. The sheet S passes through the guide roller 2 and advances to the left.
In order to connect the sheet between the unwinding shaft 1 and the guide roller 2, the connecting device of the present invention connects two clamping beams 3, 4 and 5, 6 provided above and below the sheet running path between them, respectively, to a frame F1. and supported by machine frame F2 .

In this case, the upper clamping beams 3 and 4 are fixed in parallel by a pivot bracket 8 attached to a pivot shaft 7,
The lower clamping beams 5, 6 are fixed in parallel by a pivot bracket 10 attached to a pivot shaft 9. When the clamping beams 3 and 5, 4 and 6 are in the operating position shown by solid lines, they face each other so that they can clamp the sheet S. When the brackets 8, 10 are turned to the standby position indicated by the chain lines, each beam is sufficiently separated from the sheet S travel path.

In this embodiment, the lower bracket rotating shaft 9 is fixed to the machine frame F2 , but the upper rotating shaft 7 is attached to the lower end of the swinging arm 11, and the swinging shaft 12 at the upper end of the swinging arm 11 is attached to the lower end of the swinging arm 11. It is also designed to move up and down along the rails of the frame F1 together with the lifting platform 13. This is because the temporary winding shaft 14 is attached coaxially with the rotating shaft 7.

This temporary winding shaft 14 is raised to the position 14' indicated by the chain line, and then swung to 14'' .
A new sheet is bent by winding up the entire width of the sheet end a little and returning it to position 14 indicated by the solid line, and then pulled out without internal distortion. When the bracket 8 is pulled out in this way and rotated from the standby position shown by the chain line to the operating position shown by the solid line, the beams 3 and 4 stack the new sheet S' on top of the old sheet S as shown in the figure, and the lower beam It will be pressed against the clamping surfaces 5 and 6. Winding up a small amount of the tip of the new fabric S0 using the temporary winding shaft 14 is an excellent means of mechanizing the difficult work of uniformly drawing out wide sheets. To start winding, the leading edge of the sheet may be caught by double-sided adhesive tape or adhesive, or by electrostatic adsorption or vacuum adsorption.

The clamping beams 3, 4 and 5, 6 of this embodiment are
Sub-beams 3a, 4a and 5a, 6a project inward, respectively, and can be extended or retracted as required. The sub-beam not only serves as a back support when applying the adhesive tape, but also has the function of holding both sides close to the planned connection line position A in this example. Each of the beams 3, 4, 5, and 6 has suction holes scattered on the clamping surface to form a suction section 19, and is equipped with a vacuum pump, air piping, and a switch (not shown) so that suction can be used or not used as needed. Comes with a valve.

The sheet supply is stopped just before the original web loaded on the rewinding shaft 1 runs out, and the lower rotating bracket 10 is pushed up from the standby position to the operating position by the fluid pressure cylinder 19, and the stopped sheet S on the traveling path is moved to the beams 5, 6. Adsorb it to the suction part. The trailing end of the adsorbed sheet S is removed from the winding core C and allowed to hang down, and the winding core C of the unwinding shaft 1 is replaced with a new original fabric S0 .

Then, the upper rotating shaft 7 coaxial with the temporary winding shaft 14 is placed at the solid line position in the figure, and the rotating bracket 8, which was standing above in the standby position (dashed line), is lowered clockwise in the figure by a hydraulic motor (not shown) or the like. Then, the holding beams 3 and 4 push down the pulled-out sheet S' and press it against the lower holding beams 5 and 6, which are waiting to pick up the sheet S on the running path first. Now, the rear of the old sheet S and near the tip of the new sheet S' are overlapped and held on the running path, and the sub-beams protruding from each beam are pushed together on both sides of the planned connection line A, and the sheet is pressed together. Prepare for amputation.

In this example, the sheet is cut by running the cutting blade 17, which has been waiting outside the width of the sheet, along the dovetail groove 18 of the sub beam 5a. In order to remove unnecessary sheet ends of the old and new sheets S', S which have been overlapped and cut, in this case, the force of the drive mechanism of the rotating bracket 8, for example, a hydraulic motor, is removed, and the new sheet S' end is temporarily rolled. It is wound onto the take-up shaft 14, and the trailing end of the old sheet S is pulled out manually. Even if there is no clamping force, the sides of the sheets S and S' that are not pulled out are held in that position by the adsorption force of each beam. Then, upper secondary beams 3a, 4a
is retracted by a hydraulic cylinder (not shown) and attached to the beams 3 and 4, and clamping pressure is applied again by the rotating bracket 8.

Therefore, the upper adhesive tape pressing base 16 is lowered along the vertical rails of both brackets 15, 15 that stand on the upper left and right beams 3, 4, and the adhesive tape previously attached to the pressing surface is placed at the position where the old and new sheets butt. In other words, press it against the connection line. Then, the lower sub-beams 5a, 6a are retracted, and the lower adhesive tape is applied in the same manner to complete the adhesion.

If the sheets S and S' have appropriate rigidity, the upper and lower sub-beams may be retracted at the same time and the tape may be applied from the upper and lower sides at once. Press the adhesive tape in advance on the stand 16
The method of attachment may be suction, adhesive, or mechanical support, and the material of the strip sheet should be considered to decide whether to apply the adhesive tape to both the upper and lower sides, or only to one side. The designer, etc. may decide on the above. A reel of adhesive tape is run to stretch and temporarily fix the tape onto the pressing table 16.

For example, if the sheets to be connected are not soft like resin films but are suitably rigid, the beams 3, 4, and 5 of the embodiment shown in FIG. , even just 6,
Furthermore, even if each beam does not have a suction mechanism, there is often no problem in cutting and connecting old and new sheets. Adhesion mechanisms for adhesive tapes include stretching the tape in advance, waiting for it, and then pressing it all at once, as in the above example.
An attachment method may also be used in which the tape is unwound and runs between the beams.

Further, in the above embodiment, both the upper and lower beams come out from the standby position to the sheet travel path, but as shown in FIG. 6 may be fixed at a position that supports the lower surface of the steady running path. The two upper and lower beams may be combined into one upper and lower beam, with a gap provided in the center of each beam for a cutting blade or adhesive tape. The cutting device can be of any type.

According to the present invention, since the sheets are cut in a state in which the strip sheets to be connected by the clamping beam are overlapped, the cut ends of the sheets coincide with each other, and the required cut ends are brought into abutting state by the holding means provided on the clamping beam. Since it is maintained while maintaining the accuracy, there is almost no accuracy error in the connection part. Moreover, since the adhesive mechanism inserts between the beams and connects the necessary cut ends in the above-mentioned holding state with adhesive tape, no skill is required, and the cutting and connecting process only needs to be done once, reducing work time. Can be done.
