The reason why the glass rod 4 for the viewing window is shaped with a brim as shown in Fig. 1 is that the viewing window glass rod 4 can be easily attached to the viewing window mounting part 1 during installation without reducing the field of view of the viewing window.
This is to prevent it from falling into the interior.

In the observation window shown in Fig. 1, which has been conventionally used to observe the inside of high-pressure equipment or piping covered with heat insulating material F or cold insulation material, etc., the observation surface and inner surface of the glass rod 4 for the observation window are used. Since the distance is large, the field of view of the viewing window is made as wide as possible, and a collar is provided on the observation surface side of the viewing window glass rod 4 to prevent the viewing window glass rod 4 from falling into the container or piping during installation.
Since pressure sealing is achieved between this collar surface and the O-ring 5 fitted into the groove provided in the viewing window body 2, the necessary functional purpose of the viewing window can be achieved, but when tightening the cap 3 or using Due to vibrations of equipment and piping, etc. that occur inside, and pressure fluctuations, the neck of the flange of the glass rod 4 for the viewing window is prone to crack C, making it difficult to use it as a viewing window for high-pressure vessels, piping, etc. due to safety and functional considerations. There was a problem.

Therefore, the present invention was made with the purpose of providing a viewing window with a structure that has a wide field of view, excellent high-pressure sealing performance, and can be used safely. A cylindrical viewing window body is fixed to the opening, and a glass rod with a diameter slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the viewing window body is inserted into the viewing window body so that the objective end of the glass rod is at approximately the same position as the inner surface of the outer wall. The end of the glass rod on the eyepiece side is expanded in a continuous taper shape from the outer diameter of the glass rod, and a ring-shaped guide is fitted to fit with the tapered part of the glass rod, and the ring-shaped guide is connected to the seal plate. Then, a second O-ring is inserted into the space formed by contacting the end surface of the viewing window body via the first O-ring and surrounded by the ring-shaped guide, the seal plate, and the tapered part, and connecting the glass rod. A viewing window is provided in which the eye end face and the other end face of the ring-shaped guide are pressed together by a cap via a gasket.

The eyepiece side end of the glass rod used in the viewing window of the present invention is tapered continuously from the diameter of the objective end. Therefore, there are no corners where stress concentration tends to occur, and the glass rod will not be damaged by the force generated by vibration or tightening.

A seal plate that contacts the window body and a ring-shaped guide that fits with the tapered portion of the glass rod are fitted to the glass rod. The first O-ring is disposed between the window body and the seal plate, and the second O-ring is disposed between the window body and the seal plate.
The ring is disposed in a space surrounded by the tapered portion of the glass rod, the ring-shaped guide, and the seal plate. The first O-ring is crushed between the window body and the seal plate, and performs a surface seal of the gap between the glass rod and the window body.

Since the second O-ring is crushed between the above three members, its "squashing margin" is large, and performs shaft sealing of the gap between the glass rod and the window body.

In this way, by forming the part that fits into the tapered part of the glass rod as a separate ring-shaped guide, it becomes possible to arrange two O-rings, and a face seal structure and a shaft seal structure are incorporated. This also improves sealing performance.

A part of the observation surface of the glass rod 4 for the viewing window is widened in a tapered shape, and unlike the one shown in Fig. 1, the angle of the widened part is made gentler, so there is no possibility of vibration or tightening at the neck of the widened part. The inner surface of the guide 8 is machined to have the same slope as the widening part of the glass rod 4 for the viewing window, and by fitting it, the glass for the viewing window can be opened. The rod 4 is prevented from falling into the interior from the viewing window mounting part 1, and the seal plate 9 crushes the O-ring 5 by the tightening force of the cap 3, and the viewing window body 2
The O-ring 7 fitted between the lower notch of the guide 8 and the viewing window glass rod 4 is also pressed to prevent leakage in the radial direction of the guide 2. It has a shaft seal structure that seals the
The sealing effect is increased, and when the cap 3 is tightened through the presser foot 10, the gasket 6 prevents the viewing surface of the viewing window glass rod 4 from being covered. It functions as a buffer material that absorbs discrepancies in the surfaces of the rods 4.

In addition, the presser foot 10 functions to uniformly transmit the tightening force of the cap 3 to the viewing window glass rod 4 and the guide 8, and to ensure the sealing by the O-rings 5 and 7.
Depending on the internal pressure of the container or piping, etc., the glass rod for the viewing window 4
prevent it from slipping out.
