Conventional structure and its problems A method for connecting multiple electric wires to a printed circuit board at once is to crimp a special terminal to the end of each electric wire, and then hold them all together in a holding housing and provide elasticity. There is a type of terminal in which the tip of the terminal is inserted and locked into the insertion hole of the printed circuit board, and soldered in this state. This will be explained in detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4. Fig. 1 shows an example of such a terminal, and a to c are a bottom view, a side view, and a top view, respectively.The terminal 1 has foot parts 1a and 1a' as shown in the figure. The tip portion is elastically deformable, and the intermediate portion is provided with a protrusion 1b and a stepped portion 1c. Fig. 2 shows a holding housing that holds the electric wires with terminals 1 crimped in parallel; a is a front view, b is a side sectional view;
As shown in the figure, the holding housing 2 has a plurality of holes 2a, 2a, etc. for holding the electric wires to which the terminals 1 are crimped in parallel at equal pitches, and the bottom of each hole has a tip. An elastically deformable foot portion 2b having a protrusion 2c is formed, and another protrusion 2d is also formed in the front part of the hole 2a. The electric wire C is held by such a housing as follows. When the terminal 1 is inserted into the hole 2a of the housing 2, the protrusion 1b of the terminal 1 comes into contact with the protrusion 2c of the foot portion 2b of the housing 2, as shown in FIG. 3a. When the terminal 1 is further pushed in from this position, the foot 2b curves outward, and when the protrusion 1b of the terminal 1 comes to the position shown in Figure 3b, it returns to its original shape due to the elasticity of the foot itself.
This prevents the terminal 1 from coming out in the rear direction.
Further, the step portion 1c of the terminal 1 is prevented from coming off in the forward direction by the protrusion 2d of the housing 2 coming into contact with the step portion 1c. After the housing 2 has finished collectively holding the plurality of wires in this way, the next step is as shown in Fig. 4a.
As shown in the figure, connect the tip of each terminal 1 to the printed circuit board P.
Each terminal is locked in the hole P a of the printed circuit board P by inserting it into the insertion hole P a of the board against the elastic force of the legs 1a and 1b, and then soldered as shown in Fig. 4b. By doing this, electrical contact between the printed circuit board P and the electric wire C is obtained.

However, the conventional method described above has the following drawbacks. That is, since the printed circuit board and the electric wire are connected by relaying crimp terminals, it takes a lot of man-hours, and a contact failure may occur when the terminals are crimp-bonded.

Structure of the invention The electrical connector of the invention has a plurality of grooves formed on the upper surface of the main body to hold each electric wire in parallel at equal pitches.
Projections for preventing wires from coming off are formed on both sides and the upper part of the groove, and a hole for mounting a printed circuit board at the tip of the groove is formed to protrude in front of the main body so that the main body can be mounted on a printed circuit board. It is characterized in that it has a foot portion having a protrusion that is engaged with the foot portion, and that the entire body is integrally formed of a flexible insulating material.

Next, a method of arranging electric wires in parallel in the electrical connector constructed in this manner will be explained with reference to FIG. 6. The upper part of the groove 11 is narrower than the diameter of the wire (approximately the same width as the groove 11) at the portion having the coating C a due to the tip 14a of the protrusion 14 described above. However, as mentioned above, since the protrusion 14 or the side wall 13 has appropriate flexibility,
When the electric wire C in FIG.
4 deforms inward, the electric wire C is completely accommodated in the groove 11 as shown in FIG. 6b, and the protrusion 14 returns to its original shape due to its own elasticity. Therefore, the upper part of the groove 11 becomes narrower than the diameter of the electric wire C again, thereby restricting the escape of the electric wire C to the upper part.
Further, as mentioned above, the protrusions 1 are provided on both sides of the groove 11.
6, this protrusion 16 bites into the covering C a of the electric wire C as shown in FIG. 7, thereby preventing the electric wire from coming off in the longitudinal direction.
In this embodiment, since the side wall portion 13 is made flexible, even an electric wire that is slightly thicker than the width of the groove 11 can be accommodated by elastic deformation of the side wall portion 13 as shown in FIG. 6c. After the electric wires are held in parallel in this way, insert the tip conductor part C b of the electric wire C into each insertion hole P b of the printed circuit board P as shown in FIG. The connector main body 10 is mounted on the printed circuit board by inserting the protrusion 17a of the connector body 17 into the mounting hole P a . Note that reverse insertion into the printed circuit board can be prevented by changing the width, thickness, shape, etc. of the left and right foot portions 17.

In addition, although the above-mentioned embodiment showed the case where there is one protrusion provided on the side of the groove 11, if three protrusions 16 are provided on both sides as shown in FIG.
The wire becomes more difficult to pull out and reliability can be improved. However, in this case, the mold cannot be removed in only one direction, and the mold structure becomes complicated. The embodiment shown in FIG. 10 has four protrusions 16 on both sides of the groove 11 to further improve reliability, and the embodiment shown in FIG. The mold structure is simpler than that of the previous model.

Effects of the invention The electrical connector of the present invention allows the terminal conductor of the electric wire to be directly soldered to the printed circuit board without crimping a special crimp terminal or the like to the terminal of the electric wire as in the conventional example described above. There are many advantages such as there is no risk of contact failure, the number of man-hours is reduced, and costs can be reduced.
