すい水などの液体を一杯に注入すると、キヤビテ
イ1a内の液体は冷凍枠1により冷却されて冷結
を開始する。このときワーク2の下側のフランジ
2cのやや上側に近接された突出部1c付近の液
体から凍結されて、まず下部フランジ2cの上面
近傍が固定され、その後キヤビテイ1aの上層部
へと凍結する指向性凝固となるため、はじめに凍
結された下層部の液体がワーク2の浮き上りを防
止する押え治具の役目を果し、これによりワーク
2の加工基準面2aを段部1bから浮き上らせる
ことなく冷凍枠1の所定位置にワーク2を固定す
ることができる。冷凍枠1に固定されたワーク2
は冷凍枠1を工作機械などの所定位置に固定す
