Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a vehicular wheel cover excellent in ornamentality by a method wherein liquid sealer is adhered to both an ornament and a cover main body, while the cover main body, on which the ornament is seated, being kept on rotating. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a circular plate-shaped ornament 12 such as aluminum plate, onto which the predetermined pattern, symbols or the like are printed or made by embossing and coloring, is pressingly held with a vacuum lifter V on a cover main body 10, which is made of transparent synthetic resin such as polycarbonate resin, methyl methacrylate resin or the like. は外表面側より透視可能にするよう透明に成形されてい
る。その内側にはオーナメント12として、例えばアル
ミニウム板の片面に所定の模様や記号等を印刷し或いは
打出し□成形して着色処理を施した円板状のものを取付
けることができる。この取付けにあたっては回転自在な
押圧部またはバキューム■でオーナメジト12押圧また
はを吸着支持して環状リブ11の内部を載置した後全体
を水平に回転し、オーナメント12の裏面周縁にノズル
Nで硬化するとゴム状の弾性を7する液状のシーリング
剤14を吐出して付着する。シーリング剤14は回転に
伴って遠心力で環状リブ11の内側面に移行して付着し
、オーナメント12と環状リブ11とのu打に亘って硬
化するようになる。そのオーナメン)12は、環状リブ
11の内側に相対的に小さな立」ニリでリング状の受座
15を設けてカバー本体lOの内面との間に間隔を保持
すれば、極めて深みのある色調をもって透視可能なよう
に取付けることができる。この場合には上述した塗膜層
13を受座15の突端面にまで形成するとよく、また第
1及び3図で示す如く環状リブ11の側面とオーナメン
ト12の周縁との間に若干の間隔を取ってシーリング剤
14を環状リブl′lと受座15との間にも充填して固
着するようにで□きる。その間隔は第4図で示す如くオ
ーナメント12を相対的に小さなものに形成すると共に
、円周上の所望間隔毎に突起16゜16・・・を設けて
環状リブ11の側面に当接すれば所定間隔に設定するこ
とができる。シーリング剤14としては熱硬化型、冷却
硬化型或いは紫外線照射硬化型のものを用いることがで
き、またカバー本体10の内面に形成した塗膜層13と
同系色のちのを用いればオーナメント12の表面側にシ
ーリング剤14が多少はみ出しても目立たせないように
することができる。そのシーリング剤14の吐出位置か
ら円周方向で離れた位置には、第1〜3図で示すように
熱風または冷風を吹出すパイプPや紫外線を照射する照
射ランプE等の硬化促進手段を配置し、シーリング剤1
4が所定の吐出量に達したときに作動を開始させるよう
にできる。このうち、熱風または冷風を吹付ける場合に
はシーリング剤14を環状リブ11と受座15との間の
溝内に強制的に充填ししかも回転に伴う遠心力で移行す
るシーリング剤14が環状リブ11から外に横溢するの
を防止でき、特に熱風または冷風の圧縮空気を回転方向
と反対側で外周側に向けて吹付けるとよい。また、紫外
線の照射ではカバー本体10のオーナメント12を取付
ける個所が透明であるから第3図で示すように外表面側
からも紫外線を照射して硬化促進を行うことかで九 き、この場合にはオーナメント12の載置前に環訣リブ
11と受座15との間の溝内に予め液状のシーリング剤
を充填して未だ流動性を保っているときにオーナメント
12を載置して更にノズルNからシーリング剤14を吐
出して固着するようにもできる。なお、上述したカバー
本体lO,オーナメント12の回転数はシーリング剤1
4を吐出する際の粘度に応じて調整すればよい。
