Conventionally, there are many known examples of the above-mentioned protective caps, such as Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 45-8271. That is, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, it has a basic shape in which a bell-shaped body part 1 that fits into the terminal part and a tubular envelope part 2 that encloses and protects the electric wire 3 are connected to the side surface of the body part 1. It is made of an elastic insulating material such as rubber or soft resin and is used to protect the wire terminal portion. However, when used in a car, for example, it is particularly required that the protective cap be easily attached and detached, so in the publicly known example of the above-mentioned Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 45-8271, a cut groove is provided at the open end of the body 1. At the same time, the envelope part 2 can be opened by a continuous cut in the cut groove, and the first and second
In another known example shown in the figure, a partial cut 5 is provided in the envelope portion 2 that is continuous with the cut groove 4 similar to that described above, and both of them are designed to improve the ease of attachment to and detachment from the wire terminal 6.

However, in the former known example, since the envelope portion 2 is not formed with a continuous circumference, the cut portion opens over time, reducing the protection function of the wire terminal. In addition, in the latter known example, when the electric wire 3 is inserted into the envelope part 2 in advance as shown by the dotted line in FIG. There are practical difficulties such as poor workability due to lack of flexibility.

This invention aims to solve the above-mentioned difficulties.
To provide a new protective cap that has an envelope part that can be expanded and contracted in the circumferential direction and has excellent workability and adhesion.

Embodiments will be described below with reference to drawings. First, in FIGS. 3 to 6 showing one embodiment, the protective cap according to the present invention is made of an elastic insulating material such as rubber or soft resin, and includes a bell-shaped body 1 and a side portion of the body 1. a tubular envelope portion 2 protruding from the
It is constituted by a bellows part 7 formed on the top of the envelope part 2, and the bellows part 7 bends the peripheral wall of the envelope part 2 in a "fold" shape along the longitudinal direction to form a mountain shape outward from the peripheral wall. It has a protruding shape.

That is, as shown in FIG. 6, the bellows part 7 has a mountain shape in which the peripheral wall of the envelope part 2 having a wall thickness T is folded in a "fold" shape, and a small space is interposed therebetween. It is provided along the entire length. When an external force is applied, the bellows part 7 easily expands and the inner diameter of the envelope part 2 increases, and when the external force is removed, it elastically contracts to its original shape. Note that the codes 4 and 5
1 and 2 are cut grooves and partial cuts added with the same intention as in the known example.

The protective cap consisting of the above structure has the bellows part 7.
Due to the presence of the wire, the envelope portion 2 can be expanded and contracted in the circumferential direction, thereby significantly improving the ease of attachment and detachment to the wire terminal. When fitted, the elasticity of the bellows portion 7 allows the terminal to adhere tightly to the outer periphery of the wire, ensuring a smooth and stable protection function of the terminal. That is, in the protective cap of the present invention, the electric wire 3 is inserted into the envelope part 2 in advance in the same way as shown in FIG. be done. At this time,
Since the bellows portion 7 is easily expanded in width by an external force, the envelope portion 2 is expanded in diameter, which greatly assists the above-mentioned fitting action. Further, after fitting, the diameter of the envelope portion 2 is reduced by the restoring/reducing action of the bellows portion 7, and the outer periphery of the electric wire 3 can be elastically tightly protected. Therefore, the protective cap of the present invention has excellent attaching and detaching properties that allow it to be quickly and accurately fitted to a terminal and detached from the terminal.
(Fig. 2) is extremely suitable for use in automobiles, where it is required to attach a mounting bolt to a wire terminal 6, and then quickly and accurately fit a protective cap onto the terminal 6, thereby improving productivity. be able to. This also has the effect of making it easier to work on the terminals during maintenance and inspection of automobiles.

In the above configuration, the inner diameter of the envelope portion 2 is preferably slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the wire in order to improve the wire adhesion due to the automatic restoration of the bellows portion 7. Further, the cut grooves 4 and 5 are added to facilitate the above-mentioned attachment/detachability, and are not necessarily necessary for the configuration of the present invention.

Meanwhile, the present invention can be put to practical use with various modifications in addition to the above-described embodiments. More specifically, in FIGS. 7 to 10 illustrating other embodiments of the present invention,
In FIG. 7, three bellows parts 7 are arranged around the outer periphery of the envelope part 2, and in FIG. 8, a flattened bellows part 7' is arranged below the envelope part 2. ing. FIG. 9 shows a modification of the bellows part 7 of the embodiment shown in FIG. The figure shows an embodiment in which a stretchable thin film 10 is attached to the open end of the bellows part 7 of the embodiment in FIG. 3 to improve the sealing performance of the protective cap. The present invention can also be implemented by a combination of the above-mentioned embodiments.
