The comfort of a vehicle seat is determined primarily by the elasticity of the seat's skin made of fabric, foam made of urethane, etc., and support made of springs. This has the biggest impact on the comfort of the seat.

The stiffness of conventional seat supports is determined based on the standard human body, and relatively light people feel the seat is hard because the amount of flexion is small, while people with relatively heavy weight experience a large amount of flexion. Therefore, it felt soft, and even when seated in the same seat, the ride comfort differed slightly depending on the individual.

In recent years, devices for adjusting the hardness of the support have been developed, but these devices have drawbacks such as complicated mechanisms and troublesome adjustment. Due to the change in the height of the seat, the overall balance of the seat is lost and the feeling of lateral pressure and hold is lost, which actually worsens the riding comfort.

1 and 2 show a cushion frame for a vehicle seat to which the present invention is applied, and the frame 1 is comprised of a front frame 1a, a rear frame 1b, and a left and right side frame 1c, 1d each having a U-shaped cross section. It is formed into a rectangular shape. An elastic support 2 made of rubber reinforced with fibers and formed into a band shape has one end fixed to the lower part of the rear frame 1b with a fixing member 3 such as a screw, and the other end fixed to the lower part of the rear frame 1b.
It is hoisted around a shaft 4 placed in front of the wheels c and 1d. The shaft 4 is rotatably supported at one end by a bracket 5 fixed to the side frame 1d and at the other end protruding outwardly from the side frame 1c, and this protruding portion is attached to the outside of the side frame 1c. It is connected to a provided stopper mechanism 6 and is configured to be rotated by an operating knob 7.

An example of the stopper mechanism 6 is shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. The stopper mechanism 6 has a torsion coil spring 9, which has locking portions 9a and 9b formed at both ends, in close pressure contact with the inner circumference of a circular outer case 8, and the inner side corresponds to the locking portions 9a and 9b of the torsion coil spring 9 on the outer circumference. The inner case 10 is fitted with an inner case 10 having engaging edges 10a and 10b formed thereon, and a spline 10c that engages with the operating knob 7 is provided on the outer surface of the inner case 10 to protrude outward, and a shaft 4 is provided at the center of the inner surface of the inner case 10. A shaft 10d is formed which fits into the shaft 10d. A stopper plate 11 is provided on the shaft 10d of the inner case 10 and is integrally connected to the shaft 4, and the arm 11a is positioned between the locking portions 9a and 9b of the torsion coil spring 9 within the inner case 10. is formed. The shaft 4 is pivotally supported by a bracket 5 by an E-ring 12.

The stopper mechanism 6 configured as described above stops the inner case 1 when the operation knob 7 is rotated in the direction of the arrow Y.
0 rotates together so that the engaging edge 10a abuts against the locking portion 9a of the torsion coil spring 9. By further rotating the operation knob 7, the torsion coil spring 9 is contracted and the outer case 8 is rotated. The stopper plate 1 is moved away from the inner circumferential surface through the arm 11a that fits into the shaft 10d of the inner case 10.
0 rotates, and the shaft 4 rotates. When the rotation of the operating knob 7 is thus stopped at the desired rotation position, the torsion coil spring 9 is released from the pressure exerted by the inner case 10, so that it returns to its original state and comes into close contact with the inner circumferential surface of the outer case 8 again.

When rotational force acts on the shaft 4 in this state, the arm 11a of the stopper plate 11 engages the locking portion 9a of the torsion coil spring 9 corresponding to the rotational direction.
Or, since it comes into contact with 9b and presses it to spread out the torsion coil spring 9, the frictional force between this torsion coil spring 9 and the outer case 8 is further strengthened, and rotation of the shaft 4 is prevented. .

The operation of the hardness adjusting device equipped with the stopper mechanism configured as above will be explained. To increase the tension of the elastic support 2, move the operating knob 7 in the direction of arrow X in Figure 1.
When the stopper mechanism 6 is rotated in the X direction, the lock of the stopper mechanism 6 is released and the shaft 4 is rotated in the X direction in the same manner as the operating knob 7, and the elastic support 2 that is wound around the shaft 4 is further wound around the shaft 4. When the rotation of the operating knob 7 is stopped after the desired tension is reached, the stopper mechanism 6 is locked again and the elastic support 2
is stretched with a stronger force to adjust the hardness of the sheet.

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to adjust the hardness of the sheet with a simple operation while maintaining the elastic support at a constant height. In addition, by adjusting the firmness, the feeling of lateral pressure and hold will not be impaired, and the overall balance of the seat will not be lost. In addition, in the present invention, the rear side of the band-shaped elastic support is low;
Since the front side is stretched high, a thick foam is placed on the rear side of the elastic support, which supports the occupant's buttocks, and a thick foam material on the front side, which supports the occupant's thighs. The passenger contact surface of the seat cushion can be formed into a substantially flat shape that is comfortable to sit on by placing a thin foam.
Therefore, the rear side of the elastic support is thick, and since the foam can be placed with a gradually thinner wall thickness from the rear side toward the front side, the stiffness can be adjusted by adjusting the tension of the elastic support. At the same time as the adjustment, the hardness can also be adjusted by adjusting the thickness of the foam placed on the elastic support, making it possible to provide a seat cushion with extremely good seating comfort.
