1 is included. The adjacent cavity is an insulating partition wall 13
and each partition wall has a groove 14 extending the entire length of said cavity away from the wire receiving surface. Each said cavity has a pair of opposing side walls 15 and 16 with wire receiving slots 17 and 18 extending a small distance into said side walls from said wire receiving surface. . A reinforcing rib 19 extends parallel to the side wall 15 from the wire receiving surface and reaches the underside of the bottom wall of the cavity. A wire detent 22 is provided at the end of the rib 19 adjacent to the wire receiving surface. Parallel ribs 21 extend a short distance along the lateral extension of side wall 16 and include a similar wire detent 23 at the end proximate said wire receiving surface. The locking shoulder 24 is formed by a molded core pin.
Each septum includes terminal support shoulders 25 formed in each sidewall 15 and facing in opposite directions. Mounting legs 26 are provided at both ends of the housing.

The terminal piece is stamped and formed from sheet metal and includes a row of wire support or connection portions extending in the same direction from the flexible carrier piece 35 and joined together. Each wire connection portion is formed by folding the metal pieces back to form parallel metal plates 31 and 32 connected at a bend. A wire support slot 33 extends through the bend and into each plate. Said plate 32 is provided at its free end with a stabilizing leg 34 of reduced width extending towards the plate 31. The locking projections 36 are cut and raised from each plate 31.

The terminal strips are cut to length from a reel supply and each locking projection 36 is attached to a respective shoulder 24.
and is inserted into the housing from the wire receiving surface until the free end of the support piece 35 hits the bottom of the cavity. The carrier piece 35 passes through the slot 14. When fully inserted into the housing, the carrier piece is substantially fully received and the wire support slot 33 of the terminal is aligned with the wire receiving slots 17 and 18. Locking leg 38 that engages with the detents 22, 23
The cover 37 can be used to cover the cavity where the terminal piece does not exist in order to indicate the longitudinal extent of the terminal piece. A plurality of insulated wires can be simultaneously inserted into the terminal from the wire receiving surface, and the wall of the wire support slot 33 of the terminal penetrates the insulator and is electrically connected to the core wire of the wire, so that the plurality of insulated wires can be inserted into the terminal at the same time. All wires can be made conductive to each other. During wire insertion, the curved portion of the wire connection portion is similar to U.S. Pat.
It is supported by a terminal support shoulder 25, as described in the above.

A suitable harness manufacturing method is disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 3,859,724.
The outline is shown in Figure 4.
Jig 41 similar to the jig described in JP-A-54-126490
is mounted at a predetermined position on the board 42. Each jig includes a base 43 of inverted U-shaped cross section, with wire securing combs 44, 45 rising from opposite sides of the base, the combs 44, 45 defining a connector receiving recess therebetween. After hooking the wire to the comb, the comb is inserted into the connector by means of a pneumatic power tool 46. The tool has a head 47 which accommodates an insertion ram (not shown).
and the head has the inverted U-shaped cross-section base 43.
It can be releasably attached to the jig 41 by pivot hooks 48 that engage both ends of the jig. The insertion force is absorbed by the reinforcing ribs 19.

An advantage of the connector of the present invention is that the harness wires can be made electrically conductive at the same time without first removing the insulation from the wires. The connector of the present invention can also be mounted on a chassis by legs 26 to simultaneously electrically interconnect wires terminated in a connector such as that described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,159,158. Also, the wire can be terminated at its ends or at intermediate positions. This connector is a simple two-part structure consisting of a terminal piece and a housing.
