In recent years, due to design or quality requirements, traditional celluloid or synthetic resin frames have been replaced.
Metal frames are becoming the mainstream of eyeglass frames. Various materials are used for this metal frame, such as nickel-chromium alloy, stainless steel, nickel silver, nickel-copper alloy, and phosphor bronze. satisfies the requirements of

However, each of the above materials also has some drawbacks. For example, nickel-chromium alloy has excellent corrosion resistance, but has poor plating adhesion due to the formation of a passive chromium film. When a nickel-copper alloy gold-clad material has a cut surface, there is a problem with the corrosion resistance of that surface. The nickel silver plating material is not necessarily fully satisfactory as a frame for eyeglasses, such as rusting due to pinholes and scratches in the plating layer, and there are still various points that need improvement.

本発明は、以上の点に鑑みてなされたものであ

The present invention has been made in view of the above points.

That is, the present invention relates to a frame for eyeglasses made of a gold-clad material made of titanium or a titanium alloy as a core material, a bronze layer as an intermediate layer, and a gold alloy as a surface layer.

In the eyeglass frame of the present invention, titanium or a titanium alloy is used as the core material because of its excellent lightness, corrosion resistance, strength, etc. The reason why gold plating was adopted for the surface layer is that a frame made of titanium or titanium alloy as it is would be insufficient in terms of surface finish, weldability, plating ability with precious metals, etc. The reason why the bronze layer is provided as the intermediate layer is to improve the adhesion between the core material made of titanium or titanium alloy and the gold alloy surface layer.

First, the eyeglass frame of the present invention is lightweight. Compared to the conventional metal frame, which has a specific gravity of 8 to 8.5, its specific gravity is much lighter at 5.5 to 6, and is highly effective in reducing the burden on the parts of the frame that come into contact with the facial skin. Its corrosion resistance is very good. Its springiness is Monel (hard) in terms of elastic modulus.
Although it is slightly inferior at 11,900 Kg/mm 2 compared to the 18,200 Kg/mm 2 of It is something.
In addition, since it is gold-plated, it has a high design quality, and can be further enhanced by plating with precious metals.

次に、実施例を従来品との比較において示す。 Next, examples will be shown in comparison with conventional products.
