Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the proper array of sheets with the surface direction thereof unified and enable accumulating the specified number of sheets by providing a sheet surface detecting means, a normal sheet carrier passage, a reversed sheet carrier passage and a separator respectively for a device to array and accumulate sheets of mixed surface directions including bank notes. CONSTITUTION:Sheets thrown from a feed part into the subject device pass a shift sensor 43 after the surfaces thereof have been detected by a sheet surface detecting means not shown herein. In this case, normal and reversed sheets are classified with the transverse shift of a gate member 41, and respectively pass a normal sheet carrier passage 1 and a reversed sheet carrier passage 3, finally accumulated on an accumulation part 59 with the sheet surface directions unified. In the course of the aforesaid process, when upper surface sensors 45a and 47a, and lower surface sensors 45b and 47b have detected the specified total number of passed sheets, separators 49a and 49b distinguish the specified number-th (100th) of sheets from a succeeding sheet (101st), thereby preventing the accumulation of sheets exceeding the specified number on the accumulation part 59.

(Function) In such a configuration, after the front and back detection means detects the front and back sides of paper sheets that are input with both front and back sides mixed, the front paper sheets and the double-sided paper sheets are separately routed through the human transport path and the actual transport path. They each pass through the stacking section, where the front and back sides are aligned and stacked. In this process, when the paper sheet detection means detects the total number of paper sheets that have passed by the specified number, the separator separates the specified number of sheets from the subsequent sheets, and transfers the specified number to the stacking section. The first front roller 19a and the fourth real roller 19b are respectively attached to a front separator shaft (not shown) and a male bar nota shaft via external bearings. The front and back separator shafts are interlocked and connected to the front and back separators (not shown) which are composed of pulse motors, and are supported by bearings at both ends (not shown). Further, the front and back separators 49a and 49b are directly connected to the front and back separator shafts, and their rotational positions are controlled by the front and back separator motors.

When the 101st sheet of paper passes through the front sensors 45a and 47a, the front end of the front separator 49a is slightly above the back separator 49b, and the front end of the front separator 49a is slightly higher than the back separator 49b, while the front side sensors 45b and 47b
When passing through, the tip of the actual separator 49b is placed slightly above the front separator 49a. This allows the next designated number of sheets to smoothly enter onto each separator 49a, 49b.

Therefore, both separators 49a and 49b have a comb-like shape. Furthermore, both separators 49a and 49b have a predetermined thickness, so when they rotate approximately 180 degrees and come to the stacking section 59 in order to separate the designated number of sheets and thereafter, the backup section 57 has a predetermined thickness. The control motor 63 is rotated so as to lower it by a certain amount.

The thickness of each of the above-mentioned separators 49a and 49b is approximately half that of the fourth front roller 19a and the fourth real roller 19b, and is offset in the direction of rotation thereof. Thereby, when each separator 49a, 49b rotates to the position of the stacking section 59, paper sheets can be easily placed on the separators 49a, 49b.

In the initial state, the front and back separators 49a and 49b are on standby immediately below the entrance sides of the front and back conveyance paths 1 and 3, respectively.
Furthermore, the backup section 57 is arranged at a height where it can easily receive paper sheets entering the five stacking sections (see FIG. 1).

Further, when the paper sheet detected by the front/back detection means is detected as the inside, the gate member 41 moves to the right side and the paper sheet passes through the back yρ feed path 3 and enters the five stacking sections. As a result, the paper sheets that have passed through each conveyance path 1.3 are reliably aligned with their front and back sides in the five stacking sections.

In this way, the paper sheets are sequentially accumulated in the five stacking sections, and the paper sheets are sent to the first front sensor 45a or the first back sensor 45b.
When the specified number of sheets < 100 sheets) is detected and the second front sensor 47a or the second top sensor 47b detects the next sheet after the specified number of sheets (the 101st sheet), a separator motor (not shown) is activated. Then, the front separator 49a rotates counterclockwise in the figure, and the back separator 49b similarly begins to rotate clockwise.

Hereinafter, the discussion will proceed on the assumption that the 100th and 101st sheets of paper pass through the attenuation feed path 1. At this time, as shown in FIG. 2, after the 100th paper sheet P100 passes through the front separator 49a, the front separator 49a protrudes above the decaying feed path 1 and the 100th paper sheet P+
oo and the 101st paper sheet P+ o + are separated. At this time, the back separator 49b is also rotating at the same time, and continues to rotate at the same time as the front separator 49a thereafter.

Thereafter, when the 100th paper sheet P100 enters the five stacking sections and the front and back separators 49a and 49b are further rotated to the state shown in FIG. 3, the control motor 63 is activated and the backup section 57 descends and conveys the bundle of 100 sheets to the next process (see Fig. 4). Note that this invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments. For example, instead of providing a pair of separators on a front and a back side, they may be provided on only one side if a large operating area can be obtained. Further, the sensor that detects the 101st sheet may not be provided.
