Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a crack or interference due to permanent set in fatigue of an elastic body from occurring, by bringing an inner cylinder into an eccentric state for no loading condition so that both inner and outer cylinders become concentric with each other when both are under the load of a propeller shaft or the like and then putting an elastic body into a space between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An elastic body 3 formed with a bellows in put into a space between an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder both of which are made of rigid material, and a bearing 4 is inserted into the inner cylinder 4. In putting the elastic body 3 in place, eccentricity is given to the elastic body 3 for a no load condition, so that, when a propeller shaft is supported by the bearing 4, the weight of the propeller shaft stretches the upper elastic body 3 and shortens the lower elastic body 3, thereby bringing both inner cylinder 1 and outer cylinder 2 in a concentric state. Accordingly, since the spring characteristics become symmetrical, it can be prevented that a crack occurs in the elastic body 3 or that the interference due to permanent set in fatigue or the interference with mating parts occurs.
