Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the switch to a non-voice terminal part from an automatic answering telephone set part even though a calling station has no function to transmit a tone showing the presence of a non-voice terminal equipment, by providing a detecting part that puts the non-voice terminal identification signal into an answer message detects the non-voice terminal signal received from the calling station. CONSTITUTION:An operator operates previously an operating part to record an answer message to an automatic answering telephone set part TAD. Here the non-voice terminal identification signal is put into an optional apporpriate punctuation part of the message. Then the part TAD receives a call and transmits the answer message recorded previously. A detecting part 1 checks in a message transmission mode whether the answer received from the calling station is the non-voice terminal signal or not. If said terminal signal is confirmed, a circuit switching part 2 is actuated by an instruction os the part 3 and a public telephone circuit is separated from the part TAD and connected to a facsimile equipment FAX-2. Thus the facsimile communication is carried out.

Initially, the calling station dials to page the called station and sends a tone to the called station indicating that the calling station is a non-voice terminal or facsimile. This tone may not be sent depending on the facsimile model. The called station detects the call from the calling station, responds, and sends a non-voice identification signal to the calling station indicating that the called station is a non-voice terminal. After the calling station detects a non-voice terminal identification signal from the called station, it sends a non-voice data signal to the called station and enters a data communication operating state. As mentioned in the above explanation, in order for the calling station and the called station to enter the data communication operation state, the called station needs to send a non-voice terminal identification signal to the calling station. If the calling station is a manually operated facsimile machine, the calling station can start data communication by listening to the non-voice terminal identification signal emitted from the called station and pressing the facsimile communication switch. enter the state.

Further, a combination product of an answering machine and a facsimile is being considered, as disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 60-53371. This uses public telephone lines,
First, the answering machine responds to the caller's call, and then the calling party remotely controls it by sending a remote control signal to switch the called party's answering machine to a facsimile machine, and then makes the call. This means receiving facsimile information from the recipient.

6 is an answering machine, and when 6 receives a specific remote control signal sent by the caller, such as the dial tone of a bush phone or the remote control sound of a remote control transmitter (not shown), it receives a ringing signal determined by each country, ie 16Hz in Japan. This is a remote control receiving circuit that triggers the oscillation circuit 7 to start up the facsimile machine FAX-2, and turns on the relay 8 several seconds later. 9 is a contact portion of a relay 8 for switching between the telephone answering machine TAD and the facsimile machine FAX-2, and 5 is a public telephone line.

First, a call is made from the telephone device-1 to the answering machine TAD, and the answering machine TAD is activated. This answering machine TAD is switched to the recording state after sending a response message, so when the caller records an appropriate message and then sends a specific remote control signal, the remote control receiving circuit 6 receives the remote control signal. It is identified and triggers the 16 Hz oscillation circuit 7 to start up the facsimile machine FAX-2. After a few seconds, relay 8 operates, and its contact 9 connects the public line from answering machine TAD to facsimile machine F.

In addition to the above example, an answering machine section, a facsimile machine, and a tone detection section that detects a tone indicating that the calling station is a non-voice terminal are provided, and the answering machine section first responds to an incoming call. One conceivable option is to switch to a facsimile machine when the calling station sends a tone indicating that it is a non-voice terminal.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an answering machine section, a non-voice terminal section connected in parallel with the answering machine section for data communication, and a non-voice terminal sent from a calling station. A detection section detects the signal, and a non-voice terminal identification signal is inserted into the middle of the response message of the answering machine section, and the detection section detects that the signal from the calling station is a non-voice terminal signal while the answering machine section is sending out the response message. The control section is configured to cause the non-voice terminal section to perform a non-voice terminal operation when the non-voice terminal section detects this.

According to the present invention, with the above-described configuration, a non-voice terminal identification signal is sent in the middle of a response message from the answering machine section. The non-voice terminal device can be identified as a non-voice terminal device, and the non-voice terminal signal can be transmitted while the response message is being sent. The called party switches from the answering machine to the non-voice terminal in response to a non-voice terminal signal from the calling party.

The operator previously records a response message on the answering machine TAD by operating the operation section. At that time,
A non-voice terminal identification signal (interrupted by a beeping sound) is inserted at an arbitrary position where the text of the response message has a good separation. For example, "This is OO. I am not present. If you would like to send a facsimile, please check the beep and start sending the facsimile. (Insert non-voice terminal identification signal) If you have a message, it will be Bing Pong. Please talk to me later.'' is the response message.

FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the operation of the present invention. First, the answering machine TAD receives the call and sends out a prerecorded response message as described above. While the response message is being sent, the detection unit 1 detects whether the response from the calling station is a non-voice terminal signal, and if the non-voice terminal signal, that is, the calling station is a facsimile machine, the line switching unit 2, disconnect the public telephone line from the answering machine TAD, and call the facsimile machine FAX-2.
After connecting to , facsimile communication is performed, and if the signal is other than a non-voice terminal signal, the answering machine section continues to send a response message, and ends the response message transmission. Thereafter, after notifying the calling station of the start of recording the received message, the received message recording operation is performed to record the message of the caller. After these are completed, the answering machine TAD and facsimile machine FAX-2 are returned to the standby state, and then

When communicating with the calling station, if the frequency of facsimile communication is higher than the frequency of voice communication, the operator of the called station can insert a non-voice terminal identification signal into the first part of the response message. It is possible to switch from the answering machine section to the facsimile machine section in a short time. Although a facsimile machine is used in this embodiment, it is also possible to use other non-voice terminal equipment such as a data terminal or a teletex terminal.

Effects of the Invention As described above, the present invention inserts a non-voice terminal identification signal in the middle of a response message and provides a detection section for detecting a non-voice terminal signal from a calling station, thereby allowing the calling side to receive a telephone call or the like. Even if there is no remote control means, the called station can automatically detect whether the calling station is a non-voice terminal or a person, and can receive messages accordingly. It is possible to switch from the answering machine to the non-voice terminal even if the non-voice terminal, such as a facsimile machine at the station, does not have the ability to send out a tone indicating that the calling station is a non-voice terminal.
