Conventionally, for the insertion and ejection of forms in this type of device, separate devices have been installed or forms have been manually set on the printing device. In the case of a separate device, the number of parts is naturally large and the manufacturing cost is high, and in the case of manual operation, the printed surface may be uneven.

In the figure, 5 is a platen, 6 is a printing head that faces this platen and moves in the horizontal direction (perpendicular to the plane of the paper in FIG. 1) to perform printing operations;
3 is a line guide disposed along the platen 5; 3 is a form pocket that is movably attached along the line guide and regulates the horizontal position according to the width of the form; 7 and 8 are the line guides of the platen 5; A drive roller and a pinch roller are provided below for feeding the form; 12 is a motor which is a drive source for this drive roller 7; 13, 14 and 15 are motors 12 and 12;
Pulleys and belts 10 and 11 connecting the drive roller 7 and the drive roller 7 are lamps and belts for detecting the presence or absence of paper, which are disposed below the drive roller 7 and the pinch roller 8 so as to face each other at a predetermined distance. A light receiving element, 1 is a stopper disposed below the lamp 10 and the light receiving element 11, 9 is a spring whose tip is curved and this curved part is biased toward the stopper 1, 4 is the form pocket 3; a paper guide provided above the non-operating part of the printing device;
16, the form ( ) is a continuous form.

In the above configuration, the platen 5 is movable back and forth so that it approaches the print head 6 in the printing state, as shown in FIG. 2, and moves away from the print head 6, as shown in FIG. 1, when inserting paper or a form. ,
Further, a drive roller 7 constituting a form feeding roller is also provided to move forward and backward together with the platen 5.
The stopper 1 is provided to receive the leading end of the form 16 inserted when the drive roller 7 is in the retracted state, and the paper guide 4 is provided to receive the upper end of the form 16.

In Figure 1, platen 5 is used for inserting the form.
When the line guide 2 moves backwards (in the direction of arrow 20), the line guide 2 enters between the print head 6 and the platen 5, and the drive roller 7, which is integrated with the moving part, and the pinch roller, which is attached to the non-moving part, move. A spring 9, which is separate from the spring 8 and is also attached to the non-operating part, elastically bends backward and comes into contact with the tip of the bending stopper 1. Form 1 inserted from above of form pocket 3
6 is inserted downward following the curved portion of the spring 9, passes between the lamp 10 and the light receiving element 11, and enters the form detection state, and its tip is received and set on the stopper 1.

After a certain period of time has elapsed after the document was detected, the platen 5 moves forward (in the direction of arrow 21) to approach the print head 6, as shown in FIG. Pocket 3 moves upward so as not to interfere with printing. At that time, if there is no paper guide 4, the part of the form 16 that protrudes upward from the form pocket 3 will fall backwards due to its own weight, and as the line guide 2 moves upward, it will also lift the form. If the vertical position of the form is misaligned or the misalignment is severe, the leading edge of the form may come off between the lamp 10 and the light receiving element 11, resulting in a state where there is no form. If there is no form, no further printing will be performed, so it is necessary to correctly insert the form again.

However, in this invention, since the paper guide 4 is provided, the form is prevented from falling backwards due to its own weight. Therefore, the form is not lifted up as the line guide moves, and the form is not misaligned or there is no paper. This situation will no longer occur.

As the platen 5 approaches the print head 6, the drive roller 7 comes into contact with the pinch roller 8 and also pushes the spring 9, creating a gap between the platen 5 and the tip of the stopper 1, and the form 16 passes through this gap to the drive roller 7.
By the movement of , it is inserted further downward, allowing for ejection and reforming operations.

As explained above, by providing the stopper 1 at the bottom of the drive roller 7 and the paper guide 4 at the top of the pocket 3, there is no uneven printing position and there is no need to mount a separate device, so the manufacturing cost is low and stable. This has the advantage of allowing precise insertion and ejection operations.
