In general, in a guitar that picks up string vibrations as electrical sounds, multiple pick-up devices are arranged in parallel for each string, and the vibrations of each string are picked up independently by these pick-up devices and converted into electrical signals. There is. Furthermore, due to the structure of the guitar, this type of pickup device is best installed on the string pillow or lower bridge, which is directly exposed to the vibrations of the strings. For this reason, conventional pickup devices are usually constructed as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. That is, the pick-up device 1 shown in FIG. 1 consists of a piezoelectric element 4 and a viscoelastic body, to which lead wires 2 and 3 forming "+" and "-" electrodes are connected to both surfaces, that is, electrode bonding surfaces, respectively. A damping material 5 is integrally molded to cover the sides of the "-" electrode 3 and the piezoelectric element 4 with the damping material 5, and a string support member 7 for supporting the string 6 is placed on the piezoelectric element 4. Element holders 8a and 8b are fixedly fixed on both sides of the lower surface with adhesive, respectively, and this is housed in a metal case 9. The case 9 is housed in a recess 12 of a lower bridge 11 bonded to a predetermined location on the surface of a soundboard (top board) 10 forming a resonator body. On the other hand, the pick-up device 13 shown in FIG. The string pillow is formed by integrally molding the receiving member 14.

In such a pick-up device, the "+"
The "-" electrodes 2 and 3 are used simply to commonly connect a plurality of piezoelectric elements 4 arranged in parallel, and therefore are generally made of a wire or a narrow conductive metal plate. Therefore, although it has the great feature of easy soldering work during manufacturing, the bonding area with the piezoelectric element 4 is small, in other words, the bonding strength is weak, so the piezoelectric element 4 can easily fall off due to peeling of the solder. There were also problems such as the molded pick-up device warping. Furthermore, since the size of the electrode bonding surface of the piezoelectric element 4 is larger than the size of the "-" electrode 3,
There were disadvantages such as an insufficient shielding effect due to the "-" electrode 3.

This idea was made in order to eliminate and prevent the above-mentioned disadvantages. The extremely simple configuration in which the width of the "-" electrode is set larger than the width of the piezoelectric element increases the bonding strength and prevents peeling of the piezoelectric element. To provide a guitar pickup device that can prevent falling off and provide a sufficient shielding effect.

FIG. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view showing an embodiment of the pickup device according to the invention, and FIG. 4 is a partially cutaway perspective view showing the main parts of the device. In the drawings, the same constituent members as in FIGS. 1 and 2 are designated by the same reference numerals, and their explanations will be omitted. In these figures, the only difference from the pickup device 13 shown in FIG. 2 is that the width dimension W of the "-" electrode 3 is somewhat larger than the width dimension W 1 of the piezoelectric element 4 (W>W 1 ). , the other configurations are substantially the same. Note that 20a and 20b are lead wires for extracting signals connected to the "+" and "-" electrodes 2 and 3.

The manufacturing process of a pickup device having such a configuration is carried out in the following steps. That is, solder 21 formed in a foil shape is placed on the entire one surface of the plate-shaped "-" electrode 3, which is formed larger than the electrode bonding surface of the piezoelectric element 4, and a predetermined interval is placed on the solder 21. A predetermined number of piezoelectric elements 4 are placed on the holder, and the piezoelectric elements 4 are successively joined to the "-" electrode 3 by heating and melting the solder 21, and then each "+" electrode 2 is connected to the "-" electrode 3. They are commonly placed on the piezoelectric element 4 and sequentially joined with solder 22.
After the "+" and "-" electrodes 2 and 3 are joined, the piezoelectric element 4 is molded together with these electrodes 2 and 3 when forming the string receiver member 14.

Since the pickup device according to this invention is constructed as described above, the bonding area between the "-" electrode 3 and the piezoelectric element 4 is increased compared to the conventional device shown in FIGS. The bond can be made stronger. Therefore, Handa 21
It is possible to prevent the piezoelectric element 4 from falling off due to peeling and warping during molding or due to aging, thereby improving the reliability and quality of the pickup device.
Moreover, the "-" electrode 3 located above the piezoelectric element 4
is larger than the electrode bonding surface of the piezoelectric element 4, so the "+" electrode 2 located below the piezoelectric element 4
This improves the shielding, prevents hum, and improves the signal-to-noise ratio.

In addition, although the above-mentioned embodiment illustrated the case where the piezoelectric element 4 is molded in the string support member 14 so that each electrode bonding surface is parallel to the string, this invention is not limited to this in any way, and for example, As shown in FIG. 5, the piezoelectric element 4 may be molded in an upright state.

Further, in the above embodiment, the width W of the "-" electrode 3 is set larger than the width W 1 of the piezoelectric element 4, but if warping can be sufficiently prevented, it may be formed to be approximately the same (W=W 1 ). Alternatively, the length of the "-" electrode 3 may be formed longer than the length of the piezoelectric element 4. In short, as long as the size of the "-" electrode 3 is equal to or larger than the electrode bonding surface of the piezoelectric element 4. good.
