Conventionally, in this type of banknote handling device proposed in Japanese Patent Application No. 129822/1983, an appropriate number of banknotes are divided and taken out from among the banknotes stored in a removable banknote storage part at the time of dispensing. After counting in the 0 banknote counter, the banknotes are delivered to the 1 banknote receiving and dispensing port.

The purpose of the above is to divide the single banknote storage unit into two types: a bulk banknote storage unit that can be attached and removed, and a separate banknote storage unit that has multiple storage shelves that can store banknotes divided into appropriate numbers. The banknotes stored in the banknote bulk storage section are divided into appropriate numbers by the banknote transport mechanism, taken out and counted by the 0-banknote counting section, and then divided and stored in the storage shelves of the banknote division storage section, and the banknotes are stored in each storage shelf. The number of bills is stored in the control unit, and when handling and dispensing, the bills stored separately in the storage shelf of the bill dividing storage unit are taken out by the bill transporting mechanism and counted and dispensed by the bill counting unit, and when being taken in, the bills are counted. The banknotes counted by the unit are stored in an empty storage shelf of the banknote division storage unit or a storage shelf with room in the storage unit, and the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf after dispensing or loading is sent to the control unit. This can be achieved by storing the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf and having the controller calculate the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf after handling is completed.

The storage shelf of the banknote division storage section stores banknotes that are divided and taken out in appropriate numbers from the banknote bulk storage section before handling starts, and when dispensing, the banknotes in the storage shelf are taken out all at once and the banknote counting section takes out the banknotes. Therefore, there is no need to divide the banknotes each time the banknotes are paid out. In addition, the number of bills stored in each storage shelf of the one-bill split storage section is always stored in the control section (by this, all the bills are passed through the bill counter again and counted when eating after handling. There's no need.

計算によって短時間に全紙幣枚数を把握できる。The total number of banknotes can be determined in a short time by calculation.

[Embodiments] The following six embodiments of the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 shows the configuration of an automatic teller machine which is an embodiment of the present invention. The banknote intake/dispensing port 19 banknote counting unit 29 banknote bulk storage unit 32 banknote division storage unit 4 are each configured as independent elements, and the transfer of banknotes 7 between each element is indicated by arrow αl b+ ' 1d. This is carried out all at once by a banknote transporter detail 5 having a mechanical hand (hereinafter referred to as the hand section) 5α that performs vertical movement, forward and backward movement, one rotation, and opening/closing operations. As schematically illustrated in FIGS. 4 to 11, the banknote counting unit 2 includes a separation unit 16 that separates and takes in the banknotes accumulated in the inlet 10 one by one, and a separation unit 16 that discriminates and counts the banknotes that have been taken in. An inspection section 17 and a stacking section 11 , 12 which sort the bills that have passed through the inspection section 17 according to the discrimination results.
, 13 is built-in. Reference numeral 9 denotes a control unit that performs overall control over the entire stock, and is comprised of a processing layer A that executes transaction control of payout and take-in, and inspection before the start of handling and after the end of handling according to a control program.

In the initial state, the banknote section 5α of the zero banknote transport mechanism section 5 is located in front of the delivery port 8 of the banknote bulk storage section 3 (step 101). Next, as shown in FIGS. 4A-B-C, the hand portion 5α enters the delivery port 8 and separates the appropriate number of banknotes by the banknote dividing mechanism (not shown) in the one banknote bulk storage unit 3. The banknotes are grasped, returned to the initial position, moved upward, and delivered to the inlet 10 of the banknote counter 2 all at once (step 102). In the banknote counting section 2,
Count the delivered banknotes and stack them in the stacking section 11 (
Step 103). As shown in FIG. 5 D-H, the hand portion 5
α receives the banknotes all at once from the stacking unit 11 and stores them in the designated storage s14 of the one-banknote division storage unit 4 (step 104). The number of banknotes stored in the storage shelf 14 counted by the banknote counter 2 is stored in the control unit 9 (step 105
). In step 106, it is determined whether or not the banknote bulk storage section 3 is empty, and the operations 102 to 105 described above are repeated until the banknote bulk storage section 3 is empty. Thereafter, the control unit 9 totals the banknotes stored in each storage shelf 14 to determine the total number of banknotes that can be traded (step 107).

As an initial state, the hand portion 5α of the banknote conveying mechanism portion 5 is 0.
Wait at the front position of the banknote take-in and payout port l (step 3
01). As shown in FIG. 8, the banknotes inserted into the zero banknote inlet/dispensing port 1 are collectively held by the hand portion 5α and delivered to the inlet port 10 of the zero banknote counting unit 2 (step 302). The banknote counting unit 2 discriminates and counts the received banknotes, separates them into genuine banknotes and banknotes that cannot be distinguished, and stacks them in the stacking units 11, 12, etc. (step 303). Now, considering the case where unidentifiable banknotes are stacked in the stacking section 11, the unidentifiable banknotes are collectively held by the hand section 5α and are not delivered to the one-banknote receiving/dispensing port 1 (step 304). Step 305
Then, it is determined whether or not there is an empty storage shelf in the six banknote division storage section 4. If there is an empty storage shelf, hand part 5
a holds the genuine notes accumulated in the accumulation parts 12, 13, etc.;
As shown by -L in FIG. 9, the banknotes are stored in the vacant storage shelf 14 of the one-bill split storage section 4 (step 306). This storage,

According to the great invention, before the start of handling, the banknotes are divided and stored in a large number of storage shelves of the banknote division storage section, and at the time of dispensing, the divided banknotes are collected from the storage shelf by the banknote transport mechanism section, and then Since the banknotes are taken out and folded, there is no need to divide the banknotes and deliver them to the banknote conveyance mechanism section each time the banknotes are paid out, thereby shortening the transaction time. In addition, the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf of the 0 banknote division storage unit is constantly stored in the control unit, and the total number of banknotes can be grasped simply by adding up this information, so all banknotes are counted again after handling is completed. The banknotes can be stored in a removable bulk storage unit without passing through the bank, which has the effect of shortening the examination time.

1. A bill handling device in which a bill receiving/dispensing port, a bill counting section, and a bill storage section are each configured as independent elements, and a bill conveying mechanism unit collectively transfers bills between the above-mentioned components. The storage section is divided into two types: a removable banknote bulk storage section and a banknote division storage section that has a large number of storage shelves that can divide and store banknotes in appropriate numbers. The stored banknotes are divided into appropriate numbers by the banknote transport mechanism and taken out, counted by the banknote counting unit, and then stored separately in the storage shelves of the banknote division storage unit, and the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf is controlled. When dispensing during handling, the banknotes divided and stored in the storage shelf of the banknote division storage unit are taken out by the banknote transport mechanism, counted and paid out by the banknote counting unit, and when being taken in, the banknotes are stored in the banknote storage unit. The control unit stores the received banknotes counted by the counter into an empty storage shelf or a storage shelf with sufficient storage capacity in the banknote division storage unit, and controls the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf after dispensing or taking in the banknotes. 1. A banknote handling device, wherein the number of banknotes stored in each storage shelf is totaled by a control unit after handling is completed.
