However, circular knitted fabrics have higher breathability than woven fabrics, and have the disadvantage that they are too airy and cold for use as outerwear for autumn and winter, especially for outerwear during the cold season. In order to overcome this drawback, knitted fabrics whose surfaces are coated with resin or the like and whose stitch density is extremely increased have been developed, but they have problems in terms of texture, elasticity, cost, etc. However, I have not yet been able to obtain something that is completely satisfying.

This invention has a surface layer with a high stitch density consisting of high shrinkage yarn and high crimp yarn, and a stitch density consisting of stitches that are more than twice the size of the surface layer made of thick yarn. It is a knitted fabric consisting of three layers: a coarse back layer and a middle layer with a high fiber density in which ultra-fine short fibers of 0.8 denier or less are intertwined with each other, and the highly crimped yarn that makes up the stitches of the surface layer is the back layer. It is a windproof circular knitted fabric that is joined with a tactile stitch.

The present invention will be explained in detail below according to the drawings.
Fig. 1 is an example of the organization chart of the circular knitted fabric of the present invention. In the figure, a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , a 4 indicate the dial needles of the circular knitting machine, and b 1 , b 2 , b 3 , b 4 indicates the cylinder needle. At the first yarn feeder, high shrinkage yarn A and high crimp yarn B are simultaneously fed to dial needles a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , and a 4 to form stitches A and B, and knitted using cylinder needles. b 1 , b 3
A tuck stitch C is formed by feeding the yarn so that only the highly crimped yarn RO is applied to every other yarn. At the second yarn feeder, a knit stitch D is formed using thick yarn on the same cylinder needles b 1 and b 3 that formed the tuck stitch C at the first yarn feeder, and the tuck stitch C from the previous yarn feeder is removed from the back side. By forming the stitches, the stitches on the front side become one stitch, in which stitch A made of high shrinkage yarn A and stitch B made of high crimp yarn B simultaneously constitute one stitch. In addition, the high shrinkage yarn referred to in this invention is one with a shrinkage rate of 20% or more in boiling water.
Highly crimped yarn refers to yarn with a crimp rate of 40% or more.
Also, thick thread refers to thread that is more than twice as thick as the normal gauge work. For example, for 20G, thread that is usually about 150 denier is used, but thread that is 300 denier or more is used.

Furthermore, in order to emphasize the warmth of the back side, it is desirable to use yarn with a lot of fluff, such as spun yarn.

If the knitted fabric knitted in this way is passed through the normal dyeing process as it is, the surface layer will be a knitted fabric with a texture with improved stitch density due to shrinkage and crimping effects, and the back layer will be a knitted fabric with a texture with a coarser density. This knitted fabric is superior in terms of heat retention compared to ordinary knitted fabrics, but in order to further improve it, it is necessary to provide a layer with a higher fiber density. As a method of this invention, in the present invention, ultrafine short fibers are intertwined in a part of the knitted fabric.

The intertwining treatment of the ultrafine short fibers may be carried out in the state of production after knitting, followed by dyeing and shrinking, or it may be a method in which the ultrafine short fibers are dyed and shrunk in advance and then entangled. The most suitable method for the entanglement treatment is a method in which ultrafine short fibers are formed into a sheet by papermaking and then entangled with the knitted fabric using a fluid stream. Next, an example of the method will be described. First, ultrafine fibers having a single fiber fineness of 0.8 denier or less are cut into short lengths, and then paper-formed to obtain a paper-sheet.

This sheet is superimposed on the back side of the knitted fabric and then brought into contact with a support having a substantially smooth surface, and/or
Alternatively, by applying a fluid stream sprayed at a pressure of 5 to 50 kg/cm 2 from the paper sheet side while grasping both ends, the ultrafine short fibers of the paper sheet pass through the coarse knitted fabric on the back side, reducing the density of the surface layer. The fibers are tightly intertwined with the high shrinkage yarns and high crimp yarns that make up the high stitches.

The reason for using ultrafine fibers with a single fiber fineness of 0.8 denier or less is to improve heat retention and to maintain the flexibility and lightness of the knitted fabric.

There is a thin layer of air on the surface of each fiber due to friction, and the smaller the fiber diameter and the greater the number of fibers packed, the larger the surface that holds the air and the more air it can move in a given space. It has long been well known that the more dead air there is, the better the heat retention, and from this point of view, ultrafine fibers are the most suitable material.

In addition, the back layer is composed of large stitches D made of thick yarn C, which are more than twice as large as the front stitches. Moreover, between the front side and the back side, there is an intermediate layer in which ultrafine short fibers are intertwined. Furthermore, the front side and back side are connected with a tack knit using a highly crimped thread.

The windproof knitted fabric of this invention has an extremely superior texture compared to products obtained by conventional coating methods, and the highly crimped yarns that make up the surface stitches form the front and back stitches. Because it is connected in a zigzag pattern, it has excellent elasticity, and the stitches, which are made up of an interlaced layer of ultra-fine fibers as the middle layer and thick yarn as the back layer, trap a lot of air. It has an excellent heat retention effect and a warm touch.
