[Detailed description of the invention] Technical field This invention relates to a fabric holding frame for a sewing machine, and more specifically, the invention relates to a fabric holding frame for a sewing machine, and more specifically, the feed dog and the presser foot work together to move the workpiece fabric at right angles to the swinging direction of the sewing needle. A household device that can embroider and sew various patterns such as desired letters (including alpha alphabets, numbers, etc.) and designs, especially long continuous patterns in the cloth feeding direction, onto the processed cloth by applying a feeding motion in the cloth feeding direction. For commercial sewing machines, a cloth holder is designed to hold the work cloth under tension in an appropriate and well-stretched state during the above-mentioned embroidery sewing, and to prevent the sewn pattern, etc. from being pinched by the frame and crushed and deformed. It's about frames.

Prior Art The cloth holding frame used in the sewing machine described above is different from that used in industrial sewing machines, and generally consists of an inner frame and an outer frame consisting of a rectangular frame having a rectangular opening along the cloth feeding direction. However, considering the ease of handling and the table area of the sewing machine, the dimensions of this fabric holding frame cannot be made too large; for example, the width is 40 to 60 mm, the length is 140 to
Around 160mm is considered reasonable. Therefore, the effective width of the opening, which is composed of the inner and outer frames and which can stretch and hold the required portion of the work cloth and which allows insertion of the presser foot of the sewing machine, is naturally limited. For this reason, in the embroidery stitching performed on processed cloth,
In cases where the target pattern or other pattern protrudes outside the effective aperture area mentioned above, in other words, the length from the beginning of the pattern to the end of the pattern, such as a pattern with a large number of characters or a long pattern or many consecutive characters, etc. is larger than the length in the cloth feeding direction in the effective opening area, after forming the embroidery pattern halfway with good separation, temporarily remove the cloth holding frame from the work cloth and shift the position of the work cloth, After resetting the inner frame and outer frame, the stitching is continued again.

For this reason, in the case of conventional cloth holding frames, in order to deal with cases where there are a large number of characters or patterns or other patterns that are long and continuous, as mentioned above, when resetting the fabric to be processed, the pattern that has already been formed is used. A part of the pattern, etc., is sandwiched between the inner and outer frames, causing the inconvenience of crushing and deforming the pattern, etc. That is, the 14th a.
As illustrated in the figure, in pattern P 1 (generally referred to as a "message pattern") in which the letters "Congratulations on your birthday" are lined up at equal intervals, the length of the effective opening area of the cloth holding frame in the cloth feeding direction is The range in which the embroidery stitches can be made is limited by the presence of the presser foot facing into the fabric holding frame and the fabric holding frame.
After sewing the letters from ``...'' to ``U'', for example, in the middle, remove the fabric holding frame, shift the processed fabric, set it again, and then sew the letters ``Bi'' to ``U'' at the end. become. However, when resetting the cloth holding frame, the characters ``U'' and ``Yo'' formed earlier should be inserted between the inner and outer frames, especially between the mating abutment surfaces at the ends of both frames. There is a risk of getting caught. Further, as illustrated in Fig. 14b, even in the case of pattern P2 in which a large number of "fish-shaped" patterns are consecutively arranged at equal intervals, when setting the cloth holding frame, as described above, A part of the pattern formed on the screen, for example, the third pattern, may get stuck. To avoid this, when setting the cloth holding frame,
It may be possible to change the spacing between each letter or pattern, but this is of course undesirable since it impairs the continuity of the pattern and the quality of the stitching.

As a result, the pattern obtained by stitching
This will deform or damage P 1 and P 2 . In addition, because the pattern is thicker than the processed fabric, the inner and outer frames cannot fit tightly into each other, making it impossible to hold the processed fabric in a tensioned state. This interferes with the sewing work and causes problems such as not being able to obtain a well-finished pattern.
Conventional cloth holding frames do not have an appropriate solution for dealing with this problem, and therefore, a cloth holding frame that solves this problem with a simple structure has been awaited.

Purpose The present invention has been proposed in view of the above-mentioned difficulties inherent in the conventional cloth holding frame and to solve these problems. That is, at the ends of the outer frame and the inner frame that are fitted to each other, a recess is formed in the fitting abutment surfaces of both frames to avoid the pattern etc. from getting caught;
This eliminates the pinching of patterns, etc. when setting the cloth holding frame against the work cloth, thereby preventing deformation and crushing of the patterns, etc., as well as ensuring that both the inner and outer frames are tightly fitted and abutted. The purpose of this invention is to spread and hold the work cloth properly and under tension, to enable good embroidery and sewing work, and to form a well-finished pattern.

Embodiments Next, the cloth holding frame according to the present invention will be described in detail below using preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. The cloth holding frames shown in this embodiment are made of a synthetic resin (for example, ABS resin) that is relatively hard and has appropriate elasticity (elastic deformation and return to original shape characteristics), and is made of a second material having a substantially rectangular shape of the same size. The outer frame 10 shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 -
It basically consists of an inner frame 12 shown in FIG. 10, and the fabric holding frame is placed on the table 16 of the sewing machine 14 shown in FIG. 1, which can perform pattern sewing as described at the beginning of this specification. Please use sewing needle 1 when using.
It is moved along the cloth feeding direction perpendicular to the swinging direction of 8. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 20 indicates a presser foot for the work cloth 22, and numeral 24 indicates a feed dog that cooperates with the presser foot 20 to impart a feed motion to the work cloth 22.

In the cloth holding frame according to this embodiment, the outer frame 1
0 is placed on the upper surface of the table 16 of the sewing machine 14 to sandwich the work cloth 22 from the lower surface during use, and is basically a substantially rectangular frame formed with uniform wall thickness as shown in the figure. This outer frame 10 is formed with a flat part 26 that presses the work cloth 22, and an opening 28 that fits into the outer periphery of the frame body of the inner frame 12, which will be described later, is bored in the longitudinal direction of the center of the frame. It is set up. The frame body is integrally formed with ribs 30 and 32 that come into contact with the sewing machine table 16 between the lower surface of its outer circumferential edge and the lower surface of the inner circumferential edge of the opening 28, thereby reinforcing the entire outer frame 10. At the same time, deformation in the longitudinal direction (warping, wavy deformation, etc.) is prevented. Further, by utilizing the characteristic that both long pieces 10a, 10a of this frame body can be appropriately elastically deformed inward and outward directions, the opening 28 is
The long edges 10b, 10b on both sides are formed as part of a circular arc with a considerably large radius of curvature, and the center is slightly narrow, and is elastically deformed with the frame main body 34 of the inner frame 12, which will be described later. The workpiece cloth 22 is firmly press-fitted so that the work cloth 22 can be held securely.

In addition, by merging the above two plans, both internal and external frames 12 and 10
Continuous L-shaped recesses may be formed in each. However, no matter which cloth holding frame it is, if the recess is formed at least on one end, the purpose can be fulfilled, so as in the basic example, first and second recesses are provided at both ends, respectively. If you form 38 and 48, both frames 1
When setting 0 and 12, there is no need to align (face) the ends of each other, so handling is simple and this is recommended.

In this way, in the fabric holding frame according to the present invention, the outer frame and the inner frame, which can be closely fitted to each other, are fitted from above and below the fabric to be processed. A necessary portion of the cloth can be held in place, and the cloth portion required for pattern stitching can be properly tensioned and held over an effective opening area on the upper surface of the inner frame. The cloth holding frame according to the present invention has a first recess located, for example, on the abutment surface side, approximately in the center of the above-mentioned fitting abutment surfaces at the ends of both the inner and outer frames, and a first recess located on both sides of the fitment. Since the common recess for pattern release, which is continuous with the second recess located in the opening, is formed in accordance with the swing width of the sewing needle, the pattern is longer than the length of the effective opening area in the cloth feeding direction. When sewing continuous patterns, etc., after forming these patterns halfway, set both the inner and outer frames on the next required fabric part and stretch and hold the same fabric part. A pattern formed therein can be located within the recess.

As a result, it is possible to prevent the pattern, etc., from being caught between the inner and outer frame bodies, and to prevent the pattern from becoming deformed or damaged. Therefore, with the inner and outer frames closely fitting and abutting each other and holding the fabric properly, the stitching work for the remaining part of the pattern can be smoothly resumed and the pattern can be neatly finished. Can be sewn.
