As a conventional composite photographing method, there is a method called a front projector system. To explain this method with reference to Fig. 1, a subject (B) is placed in front of a highly reflective screen (A) with an extremely narrow reflection angle, and an image of a background original (D) bent by 90 degrees with a half mirror (A) is projected onto the screen surface by a projector (E). The image and the subject are simultaneously photographed using a camera to obtain a composite photograph. However, in this method, the optical system includes a camera and a projector, and it is difficult to align the optical axes of both. Therefore, the present inventor used a high-reflection screen or a daytime screen, placed the subject in front of such a screen, irradiated light from in front of the screen to take the primary photograph, and then left the subject as it was to take the photograph. We have developed a composite photography method in which a desired background original plate is brought into close contact with the surface of a photosensitive film inside the machine, and secondary photography is performed by projecting the background onto the unexposed portion of the film through the screen (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No.
56-155929).

However, the above composite photography method uses an expensive high-reflection screen, and this high-reflection screen must be illuminated from outside its reflection angle (approximately 40 degrees on each side of the central axis). However, there were limitations on lighting for the subject, and during primary photography, people reacted to the flash and became agitated, resulting in image fogging in the background.

The inventor of the present invention has found that by using a black plate made of black paper or a black board instead of a highly reflective screen, the background is first photographed first, and then the subject is secondly photographed, thereby eliminating the above-mentioned drawbacks. did it.

The present inventor discovered that when a screen made of black plate is irradiated with light from its surroundings, surprisingly, the irradiated light is totally reflected on the screen surface, exhibiting an effect similar to that of a total reflection screen, and that from the front of the screen It has been found that most of the light irradiated onto the screen is absorbed, giving a black background. Therefore, the inventor of the present invention first took a primary photograph of the background by exposing the periphery of a black paper screen behind the subject to strobe light and projecting the light that was totally reflected from the screen surface onto the original background image that was in close contact with the photosensitive film. By removing the original background image from the photosensitive film and exposing the subject to strobe light from in front of the screen to take a secondary photograph of the subject, a composite photograph of the background and subject could be obtained. Further, even if the primary photographing and secondary photographing are performed in the reverse order, a similar composite photograph can be obtained.

Therefore, in the composite photographing method of the present invention, a screen made of a black plate is provided behind the subject, light is irradiated onto this screen, and the total reflected light is used to perform primary photographing on a photosensitive film with an original background image in close contact with it. The method is to perform secondary photography by leaving the subject as it is and irradiating light from the front of the screen and projecting the subject onto an unexposed part of the film, or by performing the secondary photography first and then performing the primary photography. This is a characteristic feature.

In FIG. 2A, the background original plate 1 is brought into close contact with the photosensitive film 2 in the camera 3, and the primary photography strobes 5 (for example, 20 ) and open shutter 6. The black paper screen totally reflects the light from strobe 5 and focuses on subject a.
The light beams other than the silhouette-shaped shadow pass through the background original plate 1 and print the image of the background original plate onto the photosensitive film. When the primary photographing is completed, the background original plate instantly jumps upward and becomes the state shown in FIG. 2B. Next, the secondary photographing strobes 4 (for example, two) are turned on, the shutter 6 is opened, and the subject a is printed on the silhouette-shaped unexposed portion of the subject on the photosensitive film, completing one composite photograph. Since the black screen of the present invention acts as a non-reflective surface for light projected from the front of the screen during secondary photography, reflected light from other than subject a will not reach the photosensitive film inside the camera. The background image and subject image are perfectly matched and combined. Here, the amount of light for primary photography is 5 times or more, preferably 10 times or more, the amount of light for secondary photography (appropriate exposure amount for the subject).

In carrying out the method of the present invention, a desired background original plate 1 is built into the camera so that it can come into contact with and detach from the photosensitive surface of the photosensitive film 2, and the background original plate can be contacted and removed using an operating lever provided outside the camera body. This can be done manually or automatically.

As described above, the method of the present invention uses a black screen and takes advantage of the total reflection effect on the light emitted from the periphery of the screen and the light absorption effect on the light emitted from the front of the screen. The equipment is extremely simple, and the amount of light when photographing a subject, such as a person, can be significantly smaller than the amount of light when photographing the background, making it possible to use strobe flash when photographing people. This makes it possible to significantly reduce photographic blur caused by people being surprised and shaken, resulting in a beautiful composite photograph.
