Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the difficulty to take out an optical fiber embedded in a wall by enabling optical fiber cores to be cut in a previously provided branch box. CONSTITUTION:When optical fiber cores 4b and 4b' for transmission and reception are branched and connected to terminal equipment 6 on the (n)th floor, the optical fiber cores 4b and 4b' are cut at a branch box 2c on the (n+1)th floor, led out of an optical fiber cable 1 in the branch box 2b, and connected to a connector 7 respectively. In this case, the distance between the branch boxes 2b and 2c corresponds to a floor-to-floor height of about 4m, so the optical fiber cores 4b and 4b' led out from between them have sufficient excessive length for branch connection. When optical fiber cores 4a and 4a' are branched in a branch box 2b on the (n-1)th floor as well as said branch wiring, the optical fiber cores 4a and 4a' are cut in a branch box 2b on the (n)th floor, and led out and branched in the branch box 2b.

<Conventional technology> When branching an optical fiber core from an optical fiber cable,
It is known to provide an extra length for branching and connection at that part so as not to damage the optical fiber core wire at that part. Japanese Patent Application No. 57-91085 discloses a means for securing the extra branch connection length. This means employs a configuration in which the cutting portion for branching the optical fiber core wire is separated from the branching portion, thereby reducing the width of removal of the outer sheath of the branching portion. That is, a position where an extra length for branch connection can be obtained is determined from the position where the branch box is provided, the outer sheath of the optical fiber cable is removed at that position, and the optical fiber core wire to be branched is cut. Then, the cut optical fiber core wire is pulled out from the optical fiber cable in the branch box and branched, and the portion from which the outer sheath has been removed is covered with a sleeve or the like.

That is, the present invention provides a wiring structure for an optical fiber cable consisting of an outer sheath and a plurality of internal optical fiber core wires, in which the optical fiber core wires are branched from an optical fiber cable installed in a building or the like. A branch box is provided at a predetermined location of the fiber cable, and the optical fiber core wire branched from any branch box is placed in a branch box at a location away from the branch box by a distance that satisfies the branch connection surplus length. The optical fiber core wire cut in the optical fiber cable is pulled out from the optical fiber cable and branched in the arbitrary branch box to be branched.

Now, if you want to branch-connect the optical fiber cores 4b and 4b' for transmission and reception to the terminal l116 on the nth floor, connect the optical fiber cores 4IA4b and 4b' to the branch box 2C on the n+1 floor above. , and pull it out from the optical fiber cable 1 in the branch box 2b, and connect each to the connector 7.
Although not shown in the drawings, the optical fiber core wires 4b and 4b' up to the connector 7 are bent, for example, in a large curved shape, so that strong tension or bending force is not applied to them. It is arranged in a state with so-called leeway, such as in a slack form, and due to this arrangement, it is necessary to secure an extra length for branch connection, which can be as long as 1 to 2 m in some cases. In the embodiment, since the distance between the branch boxes 2b and 2a corresponds to a floor height of about 4 m, the optical fiber core wires 4b and 4b' drawn out from between them have sufficient extra length for branch connection. . Similarly to the above branch wiring, when branching the optical fiber core wires 4a, 4a' in the branch box 2b n-1 times, the optical fiber core wires 4a, 4a' are branched in the branch box 2b on the nth floor.
is cut, pulled out and branched in the branching box 2b.

In the above embodiment, in the case of branch wiring on the nth floor, the optical fiber core wire is cut on the n+1 floor above it, and in the case of branch wiring on the n-1 floor, the optical fiber core wire is cut on the nth floor above it. However, of course, if the control unit 5 is located on the upper floor side, the optical fiber core wire may be cut on the n-1 floor side for the branch wiring on the n floor.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, each of the branch boxes is provided on each floor of the house, and the distance between them sufficiently satisfies the extra length for branch connection required for branch wiring of the optical fiber core wire, but the distance between the branch boxes is short. In some cases, or when a very long extra length for branch connection is required, the optical fiber core wire can be cut at a part of the branch box further away from the one adjacent to the branch box to be branched. As the branch box for cutting the optical fiber core wire to be branched, a branch box that is separated from the branch box to be branched by a distance that satisfies the extra length for branch connection is selected.

Further, although the above embodiments have shown a configuration in which the optical fiber cables are installed in a vertical direction, the present invention is also applicable to a case where the optical fiber cables are installed in a horizontal direction on the same floor, for example. In this case, a branch box is provided, for example, in each room where the optical fiber core wire is expected to branch.

In addition, in the above implementation, it was explained that the outer jacket of the optical fiber cable in the branching box was removed in advance, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the outer jacket may be removed when performing branching work. You may also do so.

<Effects of the Invention> As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, the optical fiber core wire can be cut in the branch box installed in advance, so that it can be cut inside the wall, for example, unlike the conventional example. There is no need to take out the buried optical fiber cable, and since the cutting section is stored in the branch box, there is no need to cover the optical fiber cable at the cutting section with a sleeve, etc., making it easy to branch out the optical fiber core wire. Wiring work can be done extremely easily and quickly.
