Abstract

PURPOSE:To input a plane form and a sectional form by one product form input operation by associating the plane form with the sectional form correspondingly to one product form name, integrally defining and managing both the forms by the product form name. CONSTITUTION:The plane form PLV of the product and the sectional form SCV of the product are integrally defined and stored in a floppy FLD. The three names of the product form name, the product plane name and the product sectional form name are applied to one product form and the product form is managed by the product form name. For instance, as the product form name, 'TOP', as the product plane form name, 'PLTOP', and as the product sectional form name, 'SCTOP' are applied and they are managed by the product form name 'TOP'.

In the design of such molds, the following steps have conventionally been carried out: (a) inputting the planar shape and cross-sectional shape of the product; (b) determining whether to make one piece or multiple pieces (two or more); and NC data for mold processing is created according to the layout design that specifies the layout, etc. (Cl mold pace, that is, the general total of the mold itself, and (d) NC data creation).

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> Conventionally, the planar shape and the cross-sectional shape are regarded as different shapes, and each is given a different shape name. Therefore, in order to input the product shape into the mold design system, you must first perform the specified product shape input operation to input the planar shape, and then perform the same operation to input the cross-sectional shape. There was a problem in that input operations were required twice.

In addition, since the planar shape and cross-sectional shape are treated as different shapes and managed separately, if the operator does not know both the planar shape name and the cross-sectional shape name for a certain product, it is difficult for the operator to know the product shape of the product. There was a problem that it was not possible to input the information into the mold design system correctly.

<Effects of the Invention> According to the present invention, a planar shape and a cross-sectional shape are defined integrally in association with one product shape name, and both shapes are managed by the product shape name. Therefore, a planar shape and a cross-sectional shape can be input by a single product shape input operation, and product shape management has become easier because it is only necessary to associate one name depending on the product.
