Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a wire bar having wear resistance and to smooth and uniformly coat a liquid chemical by winding many wires to a specifically sized rod in tight contact with each other to form the wire bar for wire bar coating. CONSTITUTION:The wire bar for wire bar coating which coats the liquid chemical to a base material such as paper or film is constituted by winding the many wires 2 having 0.07-0.7mm diameter onto the rod 1 having 3-20mm diameter in tight contact with each other. Then, the wire bar is easily and inexpensively produced and in addition, there is no need for adding an improvement to the bar holder of a wire bar coater. There is no twist when the wire bar is rotated and therefore, the water of the wire 2 is decreased. An excellent smoothing effect and higher coating amt. plus the more uniform surface are obtd. by the increased angle theta of inclination of the wire 2. The good coated product is thus produced. This wire bar is most adequate for a film, etc., with which an optical transmission characteristic is particularly required.

To explain one example with reference to FIG. 3, a substrate 3 to be coated such as paper or film is continuously transferred from a feed roll 4 in the direction of the arrow, and is transferred to a chemical solution 7 in a pan 6 via an applicator roll 5. The chemical solution 7 excessively coated on the substrate 3 to be coated is scraped off by a wire bar 10 supported by a bar holder 9 while it is being transferred to the feed roll 8, thereby smoothing out the unevenness of the coated surface. After the properties have been eliminated, the coated product 11 is sent out from the feed roll 8.

A typical type of wire bar 10 used in such a wire bar coating device is the so-called standard close-wound type shown in FIG. 2, and generally consists of a stainless steel rod 1 and wire 2. A single wire 2 is sequentially and tightly wound around each other. In addition to this standard tight-wound type, there are also types in which the rod has a spiral cut groove and the wire is wound around the cut groove, and there are types in which the rod is wound with an elliptical or uneven wire with an irregular cross section. .

When such a wire bar for wire bar coating is rotated forward and backward, the contact point of the wire moves laterally with respect to the substrate to be coated, and the applied chemical solution is stirred laterally, so-called. Has a smoothing effect. This smoothing effect can be enhanced by increasing the rotational speed of the wire bar, but this is not very desirable as it accelerates the wear of the outer surface of the wire. In addition, if the wires are not tightly wound around the rod, gaps will be created between adjacent wires, which will reduce the smoothing effect of stirring the applied chemical solution, which is undesirable. As a result, standard tight winding will have to be used. However, as shown in Fig. 2, when the diameter of the rod 1 and the diameter d of the wire 2 are determined, the inclination angle θ of the wire 2 with respect to the direction of movement of the substrate to be coated (arrow direction) is determined, and this inclination There was a problem that the smaller the angle 0, the less the smoothing effect, and the problem that it became impossible to deal with the case where the amount of chemical solution applied was increased.

Generally, uneven coating of a chemical solution when applied with a roll, fountain, die, etc. will not be completely fixed even if it is scratched with a bar and the pattern will be broken in while maintaining the original pattern. In order to make this original pattern as small as possible, it is sufficient to increase the inclination angle θ of wire 2, but in order to increase the inclination angle θ with the same wire diameter d, the diameter of rod 1 must be made smaller. If the diameter of the rod 1 is made smaller without obtaining the same result, there are disadvantages such as difficulty in wire processing to the rod 1, problems with the structure of the bar holder 9 that holds the rod 1, and problems with twisting during rotation. Ta. Such defects cause non-uniformity in the amount of chemical solution applied and the coated surface, resulting in a problem of deterioration of the quality of the amount applied.

In this way, the wire bar for wire bar coating according to the present invention is manufactured by tightly winding the wire 2 in multiple strips around the outer circumference of the rod 1. However, if straightness is required for the rod 1, quenching treatment is performed. If the chemical solution to be applied is corrosive, plated or stainless steel may be used as the rod 1, but the wire bar can be magnetically attracted to the bar holder. If it is necessary to do so, ferritic or martensitic magnetically sensitive stainless steel may be used, and the wire 2 may be selected from the materials listed above depending on the combination with the material of the rod 1. Most commonly, stainless steel wire can be used, and it is preferable to further plate this stainless steel wire to improve wear resistance, but if even more wear resistance is required, tungsten wire is used. It is preferable. When manufacturing the wire bar for wire bar coating according to the present invention using the above-mentioned materials, the diameter of the rod 1 must be 3 to 20 mm.If the diameter is less than 3 mm, the rod diameter If the diameter is too small, the torsional rigidity will be too small, and the torque to rotate the rod 1 will cause large twisting, which is undesirable. Also, if the diameter exceeds 20 m+, the wire bar will become too large and the wire bar coating equipment will not work properly. This is because it becomes large and undesirable. The diameter d of the wire 2 must be 0.07 to 0.7 mm, because the larger the diameter d, the more the wire 2 is inclined in the direction of movement of the substrate to be coated (direction of the arrow) shown in FIG. It is preferable that the angle θ can be made large, but if the diameter d is 0
.. If it is less than 0.7m, wire 2 is too thin or rod 1.
This is not preferable because it is difficult to tightly wrap the wire, the wire breaks early due to wear, and the durability is poor, and the inclination angle θ cannot be increased. Also, if the diameter d exceeds 0.7I, the unevenness between the adjacent wires 2 becomes too large. This is because not only a good smoothing effect cannot be obtained, but also the wire bar becomes too thick, which makes the wire bar coating apparatus undesirably large.

Further, to explain the function of the wire bar for wire bar coating according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. When the wires are aligned and tightly wound in parallel, the inclination angle of the wire 2 is all the same 0, and the wire 2 is tightly wound over the entire length of the wire bar.
A strip-wound wire bar is obtained.

To show this in a concrete example, when two wires 2 with a diameter of 0.7 mm are closely wound around a rod 1 with a diameter of 10 m++, the wires 2 have an inclination angle of about 3.7° and a multi-filament degree of 2. A rolled wire bar is obtained.

On the other hand, if one wire of the same size is wound around the same rod using the conventional standard tight winding method, a wire bar with an inclination angle of the wire 2 of about 1.9' as shown in FIG. 2 will be obtained. Diameter of rod 1 and diameter d of wire 2 above

Table units (degrees) As can be seen from the above table, for example, a wire bar of a wire bar coater in which rod 1 has a diameter of 6 m, wire 2 has a diameter d of 0.7 m, and is wound in 4 strips has an inclination angle θ of 11 .8", and if this is a single thread, the inclination angle is 2.9
It can be seen that the angle is 9°, and it is not possible to improve the smoothing effect and increase the coating amount of the chemical solution.

The wire bar for wire bar coating according to the present invention as detailed above has a diameter of 3 to 20 mm for the rod 1 and a diameter d of 0.07 to 0.7 mm for the wire 2.
Since it is tightly wound in multiple strips around the rod 1, it can be manufactured easily and inexpensively, there is no need to make any improvements to the bar holder of the wire bar coating device, and there is no twisting layer when the wire bar is rotated. At the same time, consideration for wear of the wire 2 is greatly reduced, and the excellent smoothing effect brought about by increasing the inclination angle θ of the wire 2 by tightly winding the wire 2 in multiple strips allows for a high coating amount. In addition, it has the effect of being able to produce a coated product with a good coated surface that eliminates surface non-uniformity. In particular, the wire bar for wire bar coating according to the present invention is the most suitable wire bar for coating processes such as films that require a high coating weight and uniform optical transparency, and is a wire bar that is most suitable for coating processes such as films that require high coating weight and uniform optical transparency. It has great industrial utility as a solution to the problem of uniformity.
