Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily know when, where the picture of a recording medium is recorded and the position where any picture enters only by seeing a content picture during the recording and reproduction of the recording medium by reducting and disposing the plural inputted pictures to form the index picture thereof and recording it on the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal outputted from a picture processing part 4 si sequentially inputted to a corresponding memory address of a memory 5 and at the same time to a content memory 7. At time time, an address is outputted so as to thin out in a main scanning direction and a subscanning direction by an address controller 8. For instance, in order to store the 25 pieces of index pictures in one screen, the address controller 8 is made incremental once to five times in the main scanning direction and the subscanning direction. Thus, the plural photographed pictures are arranged at least to one piece of index picture and it is recorded on a floppy disk 6. Therefore, the photographing time, the place of the recorded picture and the position of the picture can be easily known only by seeing the index picture during the reproduction.

For this reason, it was difficult to find where the image I wanted to see was taken, or to confirm when and where it was taken, so I ended up having to take all the pictures. In addition, when storing all images on an optical disk etc., it is necessary to give each image a name etc.
I had to remember the name to call it.

(Operation) The table of contents image forming means in the present invention reduces and arranges a plurality of input images to form a table of contents image, and records this on a recording medium. Therefore, when recording and reproducing the recording medium, by looking at the table of contents image, it is possible to easily know when and where the images on the recording medium were recorded, which images are in which positions, etc.

In the figure, 1 is an optical system composed of lenses, etc., 2 is a CCD that converts the image formed by the optical system 1 into an electrical signal, and 3 is a CCD.
an A/D converter that converts the electrical signal input from the CD 2 into a digital image signal; 4 an image processing unit that performs correction and processing such as shading on the digital image signal input from the A/D converter 3; 5; is a memory for temporarily storing the digital image No. 4m after image processing; 6 is a floppy disk to which the image signals temporarily stored in the memory 5 are written; and 7 is for image processing. A table of contents memory stores an image obtained by reducing the processed image signal from the section 4, and 8 is an address controller that gives an address to the table of contents memory 7. The flow of image signals from the optical system 1 to the floppy disk 6 is the same as in conventional electronic still cameras. This embodiment is a conventional electronic still camera to which a table of contents memory 7 and an address controller 8 are added. Note that the arrows in the figure represent the flow of image signals.

The image signals output from the image processing section 4 are sequentially input to the corresponding memory addresses of the memory 5 and are also input to the table of contents memory 7 at the same time. At this time, the address controller 8 outputs addresses so as to thin out both the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction. For example, if 25 table of contents images are to be stored on one screen, the address controller 8 increments once every five times in both the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction. In addition, a special floppy disk controller is required to correctly arrange 1/25 images on each of the 25 floppy disks 6. Therefore, if one floppy disk controller is used, the table of contents memory 7 will have one screen worth of space. In this case, the starting point of the address controller 8 is shifted in both the main and sub-scanning directions depending on the number of the 25 images. For example, if it is the second sheet, it will be one sheet in the main scanning direction, and if it is the sixth sheet, it will be one sheet in the sub-scanning direction.
When the 255th sheet is reached, it is shifted by 4 sheets in both the main and sub-scanning directions.

If you want to constantly back up the power to the table of contents memory 7, you can simply write to the floppy disk 6 every time you take a picture, but if you do not want to back up the power, read it from the floppy disk 6 to the table of contents memory 7 before use.
After taking several pictures, they will be written to the floppy disk 6.

In this way, a table of contents image is formed in the table of contents memory 7. This table of contents image can be displayed on an image display device, such as a CRT, by setting the floppy disk 6 in a recorded image playback device.
This can be confirmed as shown in Figure 2.

Note that the area for the table of contents image on the floppy disk 6 varies depending on the number of images that can be taken on the floppy disk 6 and how many images are reduced and stored in one image area, but usually the area for the table of contents image is the first or first image. It is convenient during playback if it is placed in the image area of the first and second images.

As described above, in this embodiment, a plurality of images input through the optical system 1 are compiled into at least one table of contents image, and this is recorded on the floppy disk 6. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a floppy disk 6 that allows you to easily know when and where recorded images were taken, which images are in which positions, etc. just by looking at the above table of contents image during playback. .
