Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve a significant elimination of uncertain factors disturbing quantitative conversion of fluorescence excited as caused by variations in the power of an excitation laser light, those in the relative position of an irradiation/detection fiber for biological tissue and the like, by providing an analyzer which performs a computation to standardize the intensity of fluorescence by the intensity of reflected light.
CONSTITUTION: A function is provided to detect a reflected light of an excited light from a biological tissue with the same optical fiber together with fluorescence as generated when the tissue is irradiated with the excited light so that the intensity of fluorescence will be standardized by the intensity of the reflected light. In other words, an light admitting section of a light guide 420 is equipped with a polaroid filter 423 to introduce light to a spectroscope 405, from which is outputted a spectral image 407 of 400W700nm containing the reflected light and fluorescence. An output video signal 421 of a highly sensitive camera 406 is inputted into an analysis circuit 408, where the intensity of the fluorescence is standardized by the intensity of the reflected light contained in the video signal 421 as information and the results are converted into a graphic of a spectral waveform to be outputted to a monitor 409.
