Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the confirmation of a mobile object by extracting the mobile object as a binary-coding signal so as to separate the mobile object in a camera picture from a still background pattern. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal 2 obtained by a television camera 1 is inputted to a signal generating circuit 3 and a binary-coding outptut signal 4 of the picture allows a storage circuit 5 to store one field or one frame period of picture data. A data in the storage circuit 5 is read as a delay signal 6 in the H level period of a memory read control signal 32, and a moving signal extracting circuit 7 uses an AND circuti 11 so as to obtain the AND between the bianry coding signal 4 and the delay signal 6, the result and the binary- coding signal 4 are inputted to an exclusive OR circuit 12 to extract the signal of the mobile body only. The output signal from the circuit 7 is subjected to noise rejection by a noise filter 8 and extracted from an output terminal 9 as an output picture signal.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In recent years, as television cameras have become more widespread, their fields of use are expanding to include, for example, surveillance applications, visual applications for industrial robots, and medical education applications. In most of these applications, the image was simply played back and confirmed using the screen, but in recent years - in applications such as FA (factory automation), robots, and remote monitoring, it has become possible to use the image to determine the imaging angle of the TV camera itself. There are demands for controlling, monitoring specific moving objects, tracking and imaging, etc. Conventionally, the output signal level of the camera image is used to confirm the peak value, or the camera image is converted into a contour signal to control the imaging angle of the television camera.

That is, the image signal obtained by the imaging device is converted into a binary signal by the signal generation circuit. After this binary signal is delayed in a storage circuit, this delayed signal and the next image signal output from the imaging device are compared by a moving signal extraction circuit, the moving object is extracted as a binary signal, and the moving object is detected as a binary signal. Separate information from complex static background information.

Effects of the Invention In short, the present invention obtains a binarized signal of the entire subject from an image signal obtained by an imaging device using a signal generation circuit, delays this binarized signal in a storage circuit, and then combines this delayed signal with the next one. This system uses the binary signal of the image output from the imaging device to extract the signal of only the moving object using a moving signal extraction circuit, making it easy to control the imaging angle of the imaging device, monitor and track the moving object, etc. It has the advantage that it can be carried out reliably and furthermore that it can be constructed with a relatively simple circuit.
