Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent coloring of an antifouling coating material, by adding a small amount of zinc carbonate or insoluble basic zinc salt to an antifouling coating material containing manganese ethylenebisdithiocarbamate as an antifouling active component. CONSTITUTION:(A) Manganese ethylenebisdithiocarbamate and (B) zinc carbonate or insoluble basic zinc salt, e.g., basic zinc carbonate, etc., in an amount of 0.1-10.0mol% based on the component (A) are added to a vehicle component, uniformly blended and dispersed to carry out the aimed method for preventing coloring.

付着による影晋であると言われている。この抵抗の増大
により速度及び燃料の増大となり経済的に多大の負担と
なっている。また冷却用パイプにおいては、熱伝導等に
障害を来たす結果となる。そして一定期間毎に操業を停
止し、これら付着物を除去したり、再塗装を行なったり
している。これらの汚損を防止する目的で、塗料中に各
種の防汚活性成分を加えている。具体的には、亜酸化銅
やナフテン酸銅の如き銅化合物、トリフェニル錫化合物
の如き有機錫化合物や錫化合物を結合せしめた有機錫高
分子体、有機硫黄化合物やジチオカーバメートに代表さ
れる有機硫黄化合物等が広く使用されている。これらの
中で有機錫化合物やその高分子体が広く使用されている
が、人畜に対し毒性が強かったり、環境汚染が問題とな
り、その規制や代替が求められている。この代替として
近年ジチオカーバメート系化合物が防汚活性成分として
使用されて来ている。これらジチオカーバメート化合物
としては、エチレンビスジチオカーバミン酸亜鉛、エチ
レンジチオカーバミン酸マンガン、亜鉛配位エチレンビ
スジチオカーバミン酸マンカ゛ン、プロピレンビスジチ
オカーバミン酸亜鉛、ジメチルジチオカーハミン酸亜鉛
等が広く知られている。いずれも防汚塗料の活性成分と
して使用されているが、エチレンビスジチオカーバミン
酸マンガンが最も安定した活性力を持ち、長期間にわた
って耐えうるちのとして広く使用されている。

塩としては、具体的には、塩基性炭酸亜鉛、塩基性塩化
亜鉛、塩基性硫酸亜鉛等が挙げられ、いずれも不溶性の
沈澱物である。また、本発明の炭酸亜鉛又は不溶性塩基
性亜鉛塩に水溶性の亜鉛塩、例えば硫酸亜鉛、塩化亜鉛
、硝酸亜鉛、酢酸亜鉛、水酸化亜鉛等を加えたものであ
っても好ましい効果を得る。
