Although these methods have been proposed and are widely used industrially, impact resistance and oil resistance have not been improved.

However, delamination and brittleness occurred in the molded product, which was not desirable.

It was found that the strength and brittleness were improved (US Pat. No. 4,166,056).

In this method, when an ethylene/acrylic acid ester copolymer with high polyethylene polarity is mixed with a polyphenylene ether resin to improve impact resistance and oil resistance, the compatibilizing function of the styrene/butadiene block copolymer is For example, delamination was observed in the molded product, which was not desirable.

A radical (co)polymerizable monomer having a peroxy group on both the block chain and the B block chain, or on either the A block chain or the B block chain is copolymerized. These block copolymer compositions can be easily produced by multistage polymerization using a radical polymerization initiator such as a polymeric peroxide, a polymeric azo compound, a multi-throw decomposition type peroxide, or an azoperoxide.

If the polyphenylene ether resin is less than 70% by weight, the heat resistance, which is a characteristic of the polyphenylene ether resin, will be impaired, which is not preferable. Moreover, if it exceeds 99.8% by weight, although heat resistance is maintained, the effects of improving impact resistance and oil resistance, which are the objectives of the present invention, are undesirable.

If the amount is less than 0.1% by weight, the compatibilization performance, which is one of the functions of the block copolymer, may deteriorate, causing delamination phenomenon in the molded product, or impairing the impact resistance, which is the objective of the present invention. This is not preferable because the effect of improving oil resistance may be reduced. If it exceeds 29.9% by weight, the heat resistance, which is a characteristic of polyphenylene ether resins, will be impaired, which is not preferable.

If it is less than 0.1% by weight, the effect of improving impact resistance and oil resistance, which is the objective of the present invention, is undesirable. Also 29.9% by weight
If it exceeds this amount, the heat resistance of the polyphenylene ether resin may be impaired, dispersion into the polyphenylene ether resin may become difficult, or a layer peeling phenomenon may occur in the molded product, which is undesirable. According to the present invention, the mixing of the polyphenylene ether resin, the peroxy group-containing styrenic block copolymer composition, and the ethylene/acrylic acid ester copolymer is carried out at 150°C to 350°C, preferably at 200°C to
This is carried out under melting conditions at 300°C using a kneader, an extruder, an injection molding machine, etc. If the temperature is less than 150°C, the polyphenylene ether resin and the peroxy group-containing styrene block copolymer composition will not be sufficiently melted, resulting in high viscosity and difficulty in kneading, which is not preferable. Furthermore, if the temperature exceeds 350°C, the resin will decompose, which is also not preferable.

られる。(Effect of the invention) Polyphenylene ether resin and ethylene/acrylic acid ester copolymer are inherently incompatible and cannot be mixed. When a peroxide group-containing styrenic copolymer composition is simultaneously melted and mixed into this, the peroxy group decomposes and the ethylene/acrylic ester copolymer or polyphenylene ether resin and styrenic block copolymer are mixed together. It is thought that a bond is formed between the two and a graft copolymer is formed. It is thought that this graft copolymer acts as a compatibilizer, and the polyphenylene ether resin and the ethylene/acrylic acid ester copolymer are mixed to achieve the impact resistance and oil resistance of the polyphenylene ether resin.

。Reference Example 1 (Manufacture of peroxy group-containing styrenic block copolymer composition) In the block copolymer composition, the monomer composition of copolymer B was 95% by weight of methyl methacrylate as peroxy group-containing monomer. , 5% by weight of t-butylperoxymethacryloyloxyethyl carbonate were mixed to make 10 parts by weight. Next, 0.5 parts by weight of a polymeric peroxide represented by the following formula 1 (selected 10 hour half-life temperature = 63.5°C) was added as a polymerization initiator, and after stirring well, a 1% by weight polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution 600°C was added as a polymerization initiator. Heavy! Suspension polymerization was carried out for 3 hours at a temperature of 60°C to 80°C with stirring in a 4-bottle flask with a condenser containing 100 ml of water, and after confirming that the polymerization conversion was 95% or higher and the polymerization was complete, the mixture was cooled. Polymerization was stopped and copolymer B was obtained.
