Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize light emission from a light-emitting diode efficiently by mounting a plurality of light-emitting diodes to one surface of a light- transmitting substrate through a conductive pattern and fitting an optical reflecting plate to the other surface of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A conductive pattern 2 consisting of copper, etc. is formed on one surface of a light-transmitting substrate 1, and a plurality of light- emitting diodes 3 are set up onto the conductive pattern 2. The light-emitting diodes are connected mutually by bonding wires 4, and emit light. An optical reflecting plate 6 is fixed onto the other surface of the substrate l. Accordingly, light diverged to the back of the substrate 1 in light emission from the light- emitting diode elements 3 can be reflected to the front of the substrate 1 by the optical reflecting plate 6, thus efficiently utilizing light emission.

[Problems to be solved by conventional technology/invention] Conventionally,
For example, filaments are used as a light source for lamps such as brake lights, headlights, and taillights of automobiles, but lamps using filaments consume a relatively large amount of power at 2 to IOA. As a result, the lamp generates a significant amount of heat, making it easy to break, and the lamp itself becomes larger, louder, and heavier. In order to solve these problems, there is a structure that uses a plurality of light emitting diodes as a light emitting source instead of a filament. This light emitting diode structure has a plurality of light emitting diodes attached to one surface of a substrate via a conductive pattern, and when used as a light emitting source for a lamp, the power consumption is very low, less than about IA. Since there is no possibility of wire breakage, it can be used semi-permanently, and in addition, the lamp itself is lighter and smaller.

However, in this light-emitting diode structure, since the substrate on which the light-emitting diode is attached is not translucent, some of the light emitted toward the rear of the substrate is absorbed by the substrate, and the substrate also has the function of reflecting light. As a result, part of the light is scattered behind the substrate, resulting in the inconvenience that the light emitted from the light emitting diode cannot be efficiently obtained.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the above-mentioned light emitting diode structure, to efficiently utilize the light emitted from the light emitting diode, and to increase the brightness of the emitted light color when used as a light source for a lamp. An object of the present invention is to provide a light emitting diode structure.

The light emitting diode structure of one embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is used as a light emitting source for a lamp. A conductive pattern 2 made of copper or the like is formed on one surface of a transparent substrate 1, and a plurality of light emitting diode elements 3 are mounted on this conductive pattern 2. As is clear from FIG. 2, the conductive pattern 2 on the substrate l is set so that the light emitting diode elements are connected in parallel in the vertical n rows and in series in the horizontal m columns. The light emitting diode elements are connected to each other by bonding wires 4. As a result, electricity is supplied from the lead wire 5, and each light emitting diode element 3 emits light.

Such a light emitting diode structure uses a light-transmitting substrate 1 and further provides a light reflecting plate 6 on the substrate 1, so that the light emitted from the light emitting diode element 3 that diverges toward the rear of the substrate 1 is reduced. Since the light can be reflected forward of the substrate 1 (in the direction of the arrow in the figure) by the light reflecting plate 6, the light emitted can be used efficiently.

FIG. 3 shows an example of a case in which a lamp with the above structure is incorporated into the casing 9 of a high-mounted brake system of an automobile. As mentioned above, this high-mounted brake system is installed from the rear of the vehicle through the rear window glass in the interior of the vehicle. It is intended to be installed in a position where it can be seen clearly. In this case, as long as the light emitted from the light diffusing plate 8 is red, there is no particular limitation on the emitted light color of the light emitting diode or the color of the light diffusing plate 8 (for example, if the light emitted from the light emitting diode and the red light diffusing plate 8 is However, if a red light emitting diode is used, it is not necessarily necessary to use a red light diffusion plate; for example, a colorless light diffusion plate may be used.

As mentioned above, the light emitting diode structure of the present invention has much improved luminance compared to conventional light emitting diode structures, so if it is used in brake lights for automobiles, it will emit clear red light to the outside. The light diverges and strongly draws attention to the visual sense, allowing for reliable visual recognition, which is also very useful for traffic safety.

As explained above, the light emitting diode structure of the present invention has a plurality of light emitting diodes attached to one side of a transparent substrate via a conductive pattern, and a light reflecting plate is provided on the other side of the substrate. As a result, the light that diverges toward the rear of the board is not absorbed by the board, but is reflected in front of the board by the light reflecting plate, making it possible to efficiently utilize the light emitted from the light emitting diode. For example, it is useful for high-mounted braking devices such as automobiles, headlights, etc.
When used in taillights, direction indicator lights, etc., visibility can be improved by improving the luminance of the emitted color, which is effective for traffic safety. Furthermore, if a light guide and a light diffusing plate are attached and integrated with the light emitting diode structure in advance as shown in Figure 1, it is possible to incorporate it into a casing such as a high-mounted damper as shown in Figure 3. Improves work efficiency and improves mass production of brake lights, etc.
