Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the test accuracy by performing a touch operation by means of a conductor stylus via the conductive rubber and therefore always securing the touch of the same place when the position detecting accuracy, etc. are tested. CONSTITUTION:The conductive rubber 2 is set at a prescribed position on an input panel 1 and then a conductive coating material 3 is applied on the surface of the rubber 2. Then a conductor stylus 4 grounded via a capacitor C of about 100pF has a contact and no contact onto the material 3 to perform the equivalent touch operations. Thus the stylus 4 has a fixed touch position at all times owing to the presence of the rubber 2 set at a prescribed position. As a result, the accurate test result is obtained.

In a touch input device, the capacitance when an input panel is touched is detected, and the touch position is thereby detected. In this case, using a capacitance measuring device such as a CR oscillator, the equivalent capacitance seen from the touch position in the front, back, left and right directions is measured, but this equivalent capacitance is measured at the coordinate position (
touch position). That is, the charging/discharging signal period of the CR oscillator changes when a touch operation is performed, and the ratio of the amount of change when looking left and right (or front and back) indicates the coordinate position. Therefore, the coordinates can be determined by calculating the amount of change via the period measuring circuit.
