このように窄め部を設けた後には普通切削加工が施され
るが、その場合に第3図に示す如く金属細管(1)の窄
め部(2)に於けるテーバ軸部(3)の角度が正確でな
いと基準プレート(4)に対して正確に当接できず切削
工具(5)の当たる角度に狂いが生じて図のような不良
品が発生してしまうので、これを防ぐために第2図の如
く窄め部(2)の角度には高精度が要求されている。と
ころでボールペンチップ用に用いられる金属細管は外径
が2膿程度のものでありそのパイプ内部に芯金を入れて
加工することは小量生産であるならばともかく大量に安
価に製造するためには芯金の損傷も多い等の理由により
困菫であるので芯金なしで加工されることになるが、そ
のため原形時の外径と加工後の外径との差を大きくする
につれて窄め部(2)の中央部近傍に内側への逃げ(6
)が生じるようになり(第4図参照)、窄め部(2)の
角度の精度が保証できない欠点がある。又、窄め部を形
成する際に変形量が大きいと当然大きな加工力を要して
窄め部形成箇所以外の例えばパイプ後部にもこの力が影
響して座屈等を発生する原因ともなるので、窄め部加工
の加工段階を増して一段階での荷重を抑制する8栗が生
じそのため加工機の調整に多くの工数を要し生産性が低

み考慮を払えば良く段付部(11)より後方のテーバ軸
